Strategy

Isskal is a water boss with 1.2 million health. This encounter in the video below used 1 Tank, 2 Healers and 7 DPS; although your raid composition may vary.

Iskal casts three spells to note. Throughout the encounter he will cast Ice Shard at the raider with the highest threat. This is a one-shot ability if permitted to complete, so it is important to have at least 3 interrupters coordinate and manually cast their interrupts on this ability.

Occasionally Isskal will cast Whirl of Death, an AoE water ability which will do no damage if you move in the direction of the current. Try not to move in or out while running with the whirlpool.

While the whrlpool is casting, he will spawn 3 Abyssal Trappers (seacaps). These have very low health, and should be taken down immediately as they will stun anyone who gets too near. Be sure to have everyone stay away from the boss during Whirl of Death, as his agrro table does reset during this phase.

At 25% health, Isskal will cast Glacial Wave, another AoE water ability which only has one safe zone at a time. You can tell which is the safe zone by the outline of the ability on the ground just prior to it shifting. The sequence for the safe zone is middle, outside, middle, inside, middle, outside.

Still disturbed by how bad that video is...

The adds don't stun you, they snare you.

He doesn't reset his aggro after the "Go with the flow" stage.

His main abilities are on a timer, they are *NOT* % based... and certainly *NOT* at 25%.

I'm not sure who authorized the posting of such a bad strat guide, but if this is any indication of the rest you have up here... breeding bads.
