is there a way for a free acc to get the doubloon for this phase?
if not, then can anyone confirm whether or not as a free acc, would i still be able to get enough for 1 of the mounts?
(btw, i do plan on upgrading my acc next month)

2nd quest to get the next doobloon is in Shimmersand. Lvl 20 accounts fre to play are sort of screwed :( ..You can try and use the Shimmer portal and see what happens. Worse comes to worse this world event leads directly into the next where the mounts are avail again
Phase 2 appears to be the only doubloon that Rift Lite accounts will be unable to access. The mounts only cost 5 doubloons and you (the generic you, not you specifically) can get 6 if you get one each week, so you should be fine.

well, unless the quest is limited to high lvls only, if you can get lucky enough to land a hit while someone else is killing them, it counts for u too

Yes but Rift Lite accounts can't zone to Shimmersand is what we mean. :)
The mobs for the quest spawn at whatever level the person clicking the chest is. It was more difficult on my lower chars and took some coordination with the 50s around but it was doable.

ah. did not know that bit about actually being able to zone there.
Don't even need to act on the mobs for the quest. As long as you're within range, anyone can seemingly get credit as long as the proper steps are performed (someone checks box, mobs killed). I just parked my mules close by and did some other things until they got their clears.

Ahh I knew the chest would update from being in range but didn't know the kills would as well. I had my level 10 cleric in there whiffing at level 50 elites!

Same applies to the phase 3 quest.
If you're a low enough level on the Guardian side, you can try popping the mobs when a friend patrol is nearby. Just make a mad dash to them and they'll take over the fight if nobody else is around. Think anyone over level 22 might be asking for trouble, though.
