Profession list filtering.Follow

#1 Apr 22 2012 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
Let me start by hazarding a guess, that - because Rift allows crafting from Bank stock - what I'm about to ask/suggest is a non-starter...

Howeverrrr... Is there likely to be a way to filter the list of learned items that are craftable in a profession (OK, Rift calls the Skills) by the following:

1) Only items that (have a chance to) pay skill points?
2) Only items for which you have (access to) all the materials required?

More valid could be, CAN such filters be implemented at all...?

If I remember correctly, the page currently opens with the first item on the list (of the last prof... skill opened; or relevant to the work station clicked) that has all its' materials available.

I know if the above were to be added, it would make knowing what I need to 'farm' for Crafting Dailies - if anything - would be easier to work out, from a personal point of view, but as of levelling Survival, filtering to see ONLY points-scoring recipes would be very useful.

Thanks in advance...

idk bout fishing and survival, i utterly refuse to start fishing. i find it BEYOND boring. but every profession ive seen, the crafts are color coded when u open the crafts window. anything but grey has a chance to net u a skill point. as i recall, orange is garanteed, yellow is a high chance, green is a low chance. as to being able to craft em, if u have the mats, there should be a number on the bar of said item in the list of crafts. if ur missing something, even something like.....say silken thread(i doubt that one for survival, couldnt think of anything else off the top of my head), no number. other than that, the only filter is knowing the name of said item, and typing it into the little search box at the bottom of the craft window popup. that is, unless someone comes out with an addon that changes this

Thanks for replying, Josh but my curiosity is more along the lines of a way of being able to see ONLY what will either score points (potentially) or not need me to source further materials; the colour-coding to signify the likelihood of scoring a skill-point & existing use of numbers in brackets to signify (This is how many you can with the materials you have immediate access to) I'm familiar and happy with, but I was enquiring after additional features to make large lists of recipes more relevant to the immediate task at hand. I'm also familiar with the ability to 'interrogate' the list with a specific word, but this, again, isn't where I'm looking.

Another way of seeing my original points would be -- Can we have a way to check a box, in a Skill list, to:
1) ... hide grey level recipes (for efficient sub-300 levelling)?
2) ... hide recipes I can't make w/o sourcing additional materials/ingredients? (Crafting Dailies scenario - what more/else do I need to make X 'weapons/Armor pieces'?)

Are you asking us, ZAM, if that's something we can do? Or are you wishing for Trion to do it? 'Cause we don't have access to your character data to do active filtering like that.

Well, they might come around but it's not the best way to leave them feedback, lol.
