I am new to the forums, so Hello to all!
I have been playing RPG's since the dawn of paper-and-pencil back in 1978. Computer RPG's have come to replace this more and more for most of us, not necessarily a bad thing, but it's still overwhelming to log in and see upwards of 50 or more players running around at the same time.
More recently I have been playing Sony's games for the last several years, EQ, EQ2, and SWG mainly plus a little Vanguard and played Dark Age of Camelot when it came out. Rift looks very promising in terms of flexible character creation, dynamic gameplay and an interesting storyline. I played a ranger in the Defiants Beta and had a blast doing it. It would be very nice to get a VIP key for the rest of them (hint, hint) for comparison.
Being a disabled veteran, I am on the computer more and more these days, and would like a great game to play that has depth of storyline and massive adventure to call home without having to worry about things like...are the developers going to nerf my favorite class? will my tradeskills actually be worthwhile to develop? do I have a home to store my hard-won trophies in or will it run out of slots?
I just want to play and have a ball doing it. :)
