Ok let's pretend i got a VIP key. I'm more of a PvE-Lore player in betas. I like to see all content and if it's well-made in all aspects. I don't say i won't try killing a player of opposing faction if i see his/her pvp flag on but would generally avoid it cause of quests and other stuff (don't want to ruin mood of player trying to complete a q even from another faction). Hope to see the game gaining even more fans and try to compete with WoW so there won't be another year like "Ooo and my guild has reach Deathwing, we're going to down him next week" and other stuff. BOOOOOORED of WoW, need something new, and that new is getting closer and closer with every day it passes !!

People seem to have very strong feelings towards PvP, leaning either one way or completely to the other side. It's interesting to see. Hopefully there will be a happy medium so that both types of players can enjoy the game.

I think the first thing that I'm going to do is try to flesh out what class I want to play. After playing so many MMOs and seeing their spin on the 4 base classes, its going to be tough to choose. I'm so torn between warriors and mages in this game, that playing a few levels on each type is the only way to know for sure what I'm going to play. After I figure that out, I'll be looking to see just how long it takes to start tackling the rifts and instances. Grouping up is one of the best parts about an mmo and the sheer mechanics of Rift promote that aspect to the fullest. I'm really anxious to hit up the content provided, make some new friends and allies and pretty much provide whatever info I can to the devs, even if its simply how much I'm enjoying the game.

Hope they have players like you in alpha lol. I love climber videos so lets hope you can bunny hop up to some sweet spots.

If I get in, you should see plenty of me and my videos in the support forum showing weird places I ended up. It'll be even easier if there is any physics in the game at all, which I haven't seen as of yet. Who knows?! But after watching almost every video I could find, I saw plenty of areas I already made plans for attempting to climb.

But, if I don't get that key, it'll never happen :(

Well, if I get a VIP, I'll play every single event, enjoy it, and help their community as much as I can. Trying classes, factions, etc.

On the other hand, I'll do a review for a couple of Spanish gaming websites. Which requires hour of gameplay, screenshots and videofrags :)

What I'll do if I get VIP? Something I wish I would have done in all my time spent on wow, WAR, pretty much any other game I've ever played. I'll slow down, I have no reason to try to fly through the content. I want to enjoy all the lore as I'm experiencing it the first time. I want to be able to savor every event every detail every option. Slowing down will help me be more focused to find the bugs that can slip through alphas. Reading quests is where you find typos, looking at the world is where you find holes in the world, or High_Elf_Doodad_3 type objects.

If I get to assist with the VIP Beta events, I will do what I would do in any other beta-testing of an MMO, plus whatever the Dev's have us doing specifically.

I would test builds, xp curve, weapon/CA/spell damage, armor protection. I would read all dialogue, checking for spelling and grammar issues. Listen to all voice overs and make reports if they are broken or unclear. Find every spot on the map that isn't supposed to be gotted to and get there - which usually means getting stuck or falling through the world once I get there. Letting them know so they can make the proper fixes.

I would also start hinting to fellow MMO friends/guild mates if I enjoy the game. I won't break the NDA, I have this weird moral code about things like that, but I will add to the hype if the game is worthy.

Lets see.

First, I'll probably spend a few days rolling characters, to get a real feel for the game. Decide which I like the best and then just have fun. Find some bugs, get to know the game world, make it better. Find some nifty stuff, think about what will be possible later. Lament that I can't share the info with other people.

As for the comments about gamestop, I'm pretty sure they had release dates set for GT5 3 years ago. Very reliable source... It will come out when it comes out! Until then I hope to be in the beta to get some early action in.

Agree with the above poster. Need to try a few classes to push the limits of possible bugs. Then explore the world and test the different mechanics, the UI, combat, player interactions, chat function, and other essential components to an MMORPG. Won't get to have much fun: betas at first are usually crashfests.

*Bubble appears over head* If I get a VIP Beta Key.

I would probably stick with my intentions to start with a healing class and explore the PvE aspect of the game more. At least for the first beta test. Then after that I would probably roll another character for PvP. I would be more into the PvP aspect of the game than the PvE but PvE is the faster way to level in most games like this.

As much as people are goin nuts about being the "perfect" beta tester, what this game really needs is hype, get your friends involved, **** bring them to Zam build this community up. Have a blast man!

exactly what im saying. I will probably be obsessed, as will everyone else. but every game needs a community and a population to help advance it into a great game. so when the "new-ness" dies down, there is still a large community of people still playing the game even past the newb stages

I'm going to see as much content as I can. The game design looks intuitive and the world looks stunning in the various trailers, videos, screenshots, etc. So stoked to have a chance to get in on this! ^_^

I will most definitely be trying the Stormcaller class. I find the channeling of spells to produce massive potency to be very intriguing. Maybe not the best for PVP, but we'll get to that in due time :)

My goals for the beta testing is not to play it like I would play a normal mmo.
I'd be searching of every corners, trying to glitch trough walls/objects, fly where I should be able to fly, enter places where my lvl shouldnt be able to enter, etc. Then records the thing, upload it and send it to Trion.

The less bugs there are when the game officialy releases, the more players it will gather, the more people I can kill in PvP lol.

This is spot on. If you want to help this game by beta testing it, you can go 100 million steps farther and promote it to EVERYONE. I anticipate the playerbase is going to go down after the first free month. It just happens, no game is perfect for everyone. BUT if we have tons of people that this decline doesn't put us under the bottom line that this games Investors want back from it than we'll be good to go. We won't have massive lay offs, quality won't go down, we won't have to get new devs in to try to salvage a sinking ship.

Every person who is hyped about this game right now, everyone who wants into beta, should be the biggest Marketing Coordinators for this game. Tell your parents about it, tell them to tell their parents their friends. If you came from another game tell your guildies, talk about it in general chat. Rather than linking **** [Shockwave] in wow trade chat talk about Rift.

The ball really is in our court.

For beta I plan to level up a character that is a tank, healer, and scout-- (So I get a mix of all 3 worlds.)
I also wanted to tradeskill, but I'm not sure if that will be active tbh... I was thinking most likely not? As I'm sure Trion just wants to test more of a pve/questing/lore aspect currently.

I wish there was pvp:) but one can also wish til the next beta I believe? :D

Depending on when the download is available and the times we can play, I may be such a nerd as to take a day or two off work. Lame, I know, but I am looking forward to getting into this game.

Since i am homebound my plans are to provide valuable feedback to insure the smoothest gameplay obtainable.
I am going to choose the path of Ranger also.

I'll probably give the character creation a run for it's money, see what different combination's of hair an face look like, looking for clipping and that kind of thing. After that, I'll be rolling a Bahmi Rogue and testing out the starting quests! I may also do some wall climbing to see if I get to places I shouldn't be able to! xD
