Have you read the latest rift newsletter?

Because it contains another beta key giving you one more chance to participate in the beta!

Good luck!

The newest one? The one that is titled "City of the Righteous"?

I don't think the keys stack, meaning if you have already applied a key to your account it doesn't matter how many other ones you apply, it still gives you the same chance of being selected.

Apparently some of the keys sent out were VIP ones, I wasn't signed up for the newsletter however so I don't know.

It does matter because you only get selected for one event with one key. Many keys give you the chance to participate in many events!

Interesting, I didn't know that.

And from what I heard was that each non VIP was used for giving you a chance at all events. I thought I seen a post by the community manager on the official say that additional keys were redundant and not needed. I'll try to see if I can find it.

@Nimec

I recall reading that it doesn't matter how many keys you have active as well. Once you have a community key your account is put into the randomized drawing, it's not the keys that are put in.

Ah, thank you. That saves me a big headache of trying to find that topic in the sea of posts.

Like a poster said before: adding more keys do not increase your chance. They do not stack. Adding one key give as many chance as adding 5 keys. Luckily they have been giving out enough keys, but taking more chance keys or VIP key do not matter. A VIP key will overrule al keys and give you a guaranteed spot in all beta events.

I wonder how big chance these regular codes will give you to enter the closed beta.
The chance is probably not big

If you see for example the keys from Curse, which were if I recall 50.000?
Everyone is gonna have one of those, so it pretty much cancells out the increase of chance that you'll be picked since everyone has one of them. Same of the other ones.
Only the truly lazy people will have less chance, since they dont even bother to get the normal beta invites.

The keys don't stack, I tried to apply mine and it said that one was already applied to my account (non VIP).

With stacking I/we ment that you apply multiple non VIP beta keys from different websites, for example a key from Curse, the one from the newsletter etc. That is possible. I have to admit I applied 3 beta keys until I heard that it has no use.. Applying a key you already used does indeed not work.

My newsletter key applied to my account along with a former key. I am guessing the previous key is rather useless at this juncture then.

My only concern with this new style of key give away is nothing more than waiting on applications like most other games do.
