Out of your list its easily the people who cry about loot, and want it all. The only people who get upset about loot are the ones who never raid, and when they raid once every couple months they have this mentality that they should win the things they need/want. It's really annoying to me.

I use to play on a RP server, yet never joined in but it is **** entertaining when you just watch them converse.. lol crazy bastards. But worse I think is Lootwhores.. sigh they always have an alt for every piece that drops.

I tend to fall in the power lvling and solo stuff we shouldn't be able to solo and make mad money off it.

I vote for PvPers. Dont get me wrong, I am PvP/Pk player, but most pvpers are just simply said bunch of whiner, ragers and elitists. From my personal experience there is huge difference between casual and hardcore/pro guilds/clans. Lets mention PvP since that is basically the only thing i play mmos for. With casual pvp friend you will hardly win any fight against good premade or even decent pug but you will have a blast on team speak/ventrilo/in game chat due to fun/lol factor (we are playing for fun here) while on the other hand playing with hardcore/competitive pvp friend will get you almost 100% win ratio (if both of you are good of course) but stress can be unbearable sometimes (yes, there is stress in competitive gaming) + nerd rages and shouting happens way 2 often.

Come on rly now Gold farmers are the worst ones. They won't let u get some q mobs cause they want it for an extremely low chance drop item that sells like thousands and u can't find it cause of them. RPers are like the best i've ever met although a little annoying in some cases with the RP language they want u to use

Half agree with you here. Findind a good crew of pvp buddies who are good but like to take it easy is really goal #1, but yeah the nerd rage is overwhelming in a pvp environment because it is fast and furious, but hey thats why we play right?

@moelester: True, finding a good crew of pvp buddies is like finding pearls in the ocean.

I forgot to mention best kind of players so here we go. Role players are just win win :D I never met rude role player in my life. They were always nice to me and I was never dished or forced to RP if i did not want to. There were times when i did some RP (i was pathetic btw) and other RP were just happy to see someone trying and that was the only reason they needed to join conversation and have some fun while ignoring some lore errors (i think they are nice and helpful by default hehe). There is one more type of players that i liked but is not an actual player type, old school traders. I bet most mmo players remember old school trading where you had to put tent or something similar and sit in market mode waiting for other players to buy items from you (yes, i hate auction house). They hardly sold anything because when someone was interested he/she would PM/whisper that trader and just start chatting about items, prices, random stuff like comics, movies and so on and in the end items you wanted would be traded or even given for free sometimes. I remember when ppl valued good conversation more than item you would get in 1 hour of farming.

Haven't seen old school traders for ages !! Would like to see that in Rift although people tend to use auction house cause it's more easy and quick for finding, selling, buying items :(

I honestly think you can find good and bad players in all they sub-genres of MMORPGS. I don't think being any particular type of player makes you one of the worst I think being a particular type of person does. :P Honestly I have known good and bad people from all the classes listed.

I would say the best kind of players are RPers, since when u chat with a RPer, it's pretty fun! And you feel like you are in a storyline game. The PVPers are elitists, yes. But they are very good players since they are the people fighting against real intelligence, not the artificial, that's why in raids, PvE, they play better than the most.

I would say the worst are crafters, they are rich, but they spend their whole time crafting stuff, and since they have to level up too, they spend another 3-4 hours to level up, 3 hours to crafting (at least), that makes 7 hours. Also, the crafting is boring. Since the crafters become ambitious of crafting and gaining money, not all, but most of them are no lifers. And they have much less PvP, raid, leveling experience than most of the people, even the lootwhores get into more fight than them. They are very useful in guilds, but useless in a raid or PvP group.

best: RP'ers I just think there conversation are amazing. I admire how they stay in there role.
Worse: well I don't like being PvP ganked on doing quest, so I go to PvE servers and I get irritated the most by Lootwhores.

Roleplayers can be interesting sometime, personally it's not my fortay. My character is usually nothing more than a means to an end for me. Hes there to get the job done and help me experience the game's content.

In my experience, there are always going to be those inconsiderate, selfish people. There will always be cranky folks and folks who have a bad attitude. Some people don't like to accept the fact that there is more to a game than what THEY are interested in. Then you have the people who find it fun to cause an uproar.

I have PvP'd, RP'd & PvE & still do! It's not always easy to find a mature group of people to hang out with who share your interests or accept that you have other interests. It is possible, though. <3

Anyone friendly and offers something to the community in a possitive way.

It matters not how much they play. Young and old acting mature and respectful to others is all that is required.

I love RPers, I wish I RP'd more, but it is always fun to run into a real RPer out in the gaming world.. Worst? I would say the Power Gamer/Loot ***** who jumps guilds based on who can get them better gear, and is always in chat linking gear that 90% of us will never see or talking down on those that are discussing content that the Power Gamer's guild has crushed a month earlier etc...

The worst player is a player who takes his game too seriously. I know people can be sucked into a game and get a bit heated when things go wrong but it is no exscuss to swear abuse and belittle other players. If a team wipes because of a players mistake ok suck it up and move on. To scream and yell at them is a bit too much

Depends, if its a first time sure but if its something that happens repeatedly then that player would be gone from the guild.

I hate a lot of types of people on games. The beggers are the worst, especially when they follow you around and spam trade requests, then whisper you endlessly with "plz" "plzzzzz" "plzzzzz gold plzzzzz" "ITAM?"

I also hate people who spam global chats with stupid meme things, like the **** and Allakhazam (NEAT! you can't say C*h--uck N--o*rris on this forum?!) crisis in WoW or the 4chan spam on EQ2.

Gotta hate "intellegentz" people as well. The ones that mock you day in and day out over the stupidest things, just to help boost their own personal self-esteem. "Hey if I type as intelligent as possible, and insult everyone who does not, perhaps I'll be the better person!"

I also hate it when people get into typo wars. They sit there and correct eachother's grammar and spelling back and forth until it's a sea of asterisk spam and spelling corrections.

Other than that, I could care less about everyone else. RPers do their own thing, though it is quirky to be trading with one, only for them to start spouting in lore and backstory. I mean, c'mon man! I just want that sword! Scammers are taken care of by the general community, so just being smart should be enough to avoid them. Spammers are dealt with with the /ignore feature, and hackers should be taken care of pretty quick. If they aren't, the game isn't worth playing anyway!

So, other than that, any minor nuances that you receive from other players should be taken with a grain of salt. The beauty of an online community lies within it's diversity. Without them, it would be an endless grind session sprinkled with quests and rifts and maybe a little PVP. Enjoy that free laugh once in a while and take it with a little respect!

Worst are ninjas and lootwhores. Always causing drama and distracting from the enjoyment of the game. Best are probably raid leaders. No one wants that position: not easy dealing with random people over the internet.

Indeed, lootwhores and ninja looters are the worst. Second worst... RP Haters. The active ones that take time out of their gaming day to ruin whatever the RPer's are up to when they try to do that stuff in the open. Really? You hate it so much you have to do that?

Best - Roleplayers and those who don't mind us "crazies" who like to immerse ourselves in the world and characters. You guys rock. :)

RPers are harmless at their worst. All they do is want to have their own kind of fun and be left alone. I've never found an actual roleplayer that is horrible to be around. The pervy ones can be annoying though.

Far worse by far are the Ragers and Whiners/Beggers/Anti-Elitist types. Those who think its impossible for them to get something, because the game is "too hard". 95% of the time, if you really want something in any MMO, spend long enough working towards it and you will get it, even if you have to buy the loot rights. Then the ragers who quit on people for not having the gear are just as bad though. Seriously people, its a game, have fun. Its a random drop system in a game for a reason.

I disagree with the whole "working towards it" aspect of your post, since this is a game and games are supposed to be fun. But I agree most objectives should require some time and effort to avoid trivializing the game, i.e. do not copy WoW Wrath of the Lich King expansion model.
#36 Nov 24 2010 at 12:14 AM Rating: Decent
I can't say i really mind RPers. I've even tried to join in a couple of times. I'd say it's the elitists, I mean the Fact that you don't have the Greatest gear AND best build some how makes you sub-human. God forbid you have to TRY to beat a boss, being able to face roll every fight is obviously the only way to go.

/rant

Other than that though it's the people who try and take over ever group/pug/PvP session.

Best: Raid Leaders who actually herd cats into a productive force followed closely by entertaining role players (both make the game more enjoyable).

Worst: Griefers and Gold Farmers/Sellers. I would love to see a game where other players could put temporary flags on other players and if enough people 'flagged' that character within a certain time frame then an open season bounty would be placed on the offender and even PvE players would be able to attack the offending player. Let the community justice system rule!!! :)
