Which is the cap level on Rift? Anyone knows? If not, which cap level do you think it should have?

If the grind is anything like Aion. Getting to 50 can take awhile especially if you take your time and try to enjoy the game. I think level 40-50 is a perfect cap.

The number of the level is absolutely meaningless. You could have level 20,000 but if it takes the same amount of time to get from 1 to 20,000 as from 1 to 50 it's essentially the same thing.

Leveling will (supposedly) be much, much faster than Aion.

Not rly if u think the stat increase u get with each lvl !! Although u can fix that, take into consideration that there will be a huge difference between the dmg a lvl 20k can do with him who is lvl 50.

No, you're making assumptions on gains per level and the rate of power increase. The point I was trying to make is that the level cap is just an abstract number with no meaning when it is first considered. For example, max level at launch for AoC was 80, but in terms of relative power between 1 and 80, it was no different than the difference in any game with a level 50 cap.

In short, I was exaggerating to make the point that the number is meaningless without the context of power gains per level and time investment per level.

Leveling will not be a "grind" in Rift, if anything it is more likely to go by too fast for many, since there will be such an overwhelming amount of content. They've stated in interviews they are balancing the xp curve against available content, not some arbitrary numerical system.

Also, the number is meaningless, so long as the system is actually balanced to account for it. I think the available content should determine the cap, in this case 50 was chosen, seems like a good number. Hopefully it will be raised later on, when xpacs start to come out.
