Wasted 5 years of my life on WoW and with cataclysm coming I don't think I could ever
fully bring myself back to it. The game is too simplified and I strongly believe its
going to die out soon if not already. I'm really hoping rift can seal the deal for me
and get me out of this MMO limbo. POST IF YOU BELIEVE!!!

So you feel like you wasted 5 years of your life on WoW and now you are ready for another MMO? WoW was never your drug...

I can't say that I hate World of Warcraft because it was one of the better MMO's I have played. Granted, I stopped playing it before its first expansion. Rift looks like it could be a top contender if the Dynamic Layered Content is implemented correctly! Lets help get that done!!!

I already did. I also quit Darkfall for it, too! And toned down on minecraft. (But lets face it, no one can quit minecraft!)

I quit world of warcraft for LOTRO awhile back, but I've stopped playing any MMO's recently. I find the demo level of Crysis more immersive than any of the MMO's with a decent population and publisher behind them released in the past decade.

I'm hoping the upcoming MMO's, Particularly Rift and Tera will provide enough of a dynamic world that I'll get back into them again.

Oh uh, I mean lolz wow is fail.

I quit WoW over a year ago becase it was all becoming a grind. Went back to it last month to see if the pre-Cata events and talent changes would make it interesting. I found, no, it's too simple and all the class identity is gone...Blizzard has lost me. We'll see if Rift provides an alternative.

I won't quit WoW for Rift, but I'm gonna post here anyways! Muahahaha!

Too many of my friends and even family play WoW, so I wouldn't be able to play with them if I quit.
Not everyone are interested in another MMO, but that's their decision. They are going to miss out on a great game, I'm sure :)

I quit minecraft after playing it for 15 minutes. Just not my type of game I guess.

Anyways, I will pretty much always play World of Warcraft, until I find something better I guess. I quit for months at a time but I always come back at some point. I just started playing again because Cataclysm is coming and all the new content is pretty fun, but before that I hadn't played for 6 months or so.

Yeah Minecraft isn't my type of game either. I never had lego's so I don't see the appeal in building things like that. The only aspect of the game that would be interesting is building up weaponry to fight the creepers, but I may as well play civilization or Alpha Centauri for that.

I stopped playing wow in September. I just got so bored. From about June-September I hated every second of raiding, I was just doing it because I was a class leader and an officer and I felt that I had to. I kept up with the game until a few weeks ago so that I could still provide my mages with all the information, tips, and tricks they would need to make it through the changes since I couldn't guide them in game. I still think I'm the best mage in my guild, and on my server but that isn't enough to hold me. The last remaining thing that kept my attention was working the AH and making a lot of money. That was very fun for a while. But then I couldn't justify having to raid so I could work the AH. So I stopped. I stopped following info about wow, and stopped offering advice when I started following rift, so I suppose I fall into your category of quitting wow for rift, albeit I did it in a different way.

I quit WoW before burning crusade, but I usually find it entertaining to go back to WoW for the 10 day free trial every expansion. I actually went back for about a month with WoTLK to catch up on all the quests in Burning Crusades and WoTLK. It was amusing and fun, but not worth staying longer than that. I'm sure I will take advantage of the 10 day free trial for Cata once the crowds in the newbie zones die down.

I'm not selling my toon, but i'm not gonna buy Cataclysm just yet... maybe when it lowers the price to 50-70% of what's now. I already took a break but i'm not really considering to play it soon

I quit WoW in March or April upon killing Sapphiron on heroic 25-man difficulty and haven't played a MMO since, so in a sense I'm a WoW convert. WoTLK (besides the Icecrown Citadel raid) ruined WoW for me as a hardcore raider. This game just looks like everything WoW should have been: dynamic, polished, content-filled, and hopefully decently hard. Besides Dragon Age 2 and SWTOR, this is the only game I'm looking forward to in 2010.
