How exciting! I was expecting to wait until January for my first time in beta, so I'm very glad it's only a couple weeks off. <3 It's like an early Christmas present.

I am not to happy either with the date, on the 20th I have to do an exam. So can play for max 6 hours on Monday after the exam/test. On the other hand in January I have also 4 tests/exams. So one way or the other I wont play much anymore for the beta's.

well since the last beta event just ended on Monday, you gotta give them some time to catch their breath and work out some of the bugs they found as well as make sure everything will run smoothly again. I think if they tried to do a beta event this weekend theyd be to rushed as well as have to really compete with WoW:Cataclysm that just came out , this way they have little more time to get everything done in preparation for the next set of Beta, and gives people time to get bored of cata lol.. I did the last beta event , tho missed it on friday cause having to d/l the 6GB file took long time but still. I am really looking forward to this, hope i can get into this beta , cause would be horrible if i missed gettin a taste of the guardian's lol, im excited to see what their mounts at 20 look like, i liked the Defiants mount that lookd cool , but hope the guardians one looks cooler.

I hope everyone has their pizza deliveries pre-orderd pre-paid and will arrive at specific times so you never have to miss more than 60 seconds of rift for the whole weekend.

I would love to get in on testing this. Not only does the game look expansive but it looks like a ton of NEW possible bugs to search for. Yes I like looking for bugs or game breaking items and reporting them to the company.

I can't wait to test this out! Now to get hubby in as well : )

I didn't have quite as much time as I would have liked to test out the last beta event, but still got some input sent in that will hopefully be of some help. I should have more free time for the next event so I can't wait!

It was a hard call but i decided to just take the weekend off the work (thus possibly not being able to make rent.....) with the hope of getting into the second beta test!! But i didn't tell my girlfriend I got the days off, because there is no way she would just let me play for two days! I really hope I get in!

Great timing on this one imo.. now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed they'll wait another two weeks for the 3rd event. Being home for xmas for me is like going back in time, technology-wise, and if they put the pvp-enabled event on xmas weekend I'd probly have to cancel a bus ticket :\

The guardian races look pretty good. It will be interesting to see just how many people they let into this 2nd closed beta and how many servers they bring up.

Abigale mentioned that the pool of testers will be a bit bigger next time. I think the number of shards will remain the same though, or a very small addition like 2-3.

Looking forward to the next BETA and hoping to get a Beta Key. (hint hint) I'm real curious on a lot of things that people aren't able to openly discuss because of the NDA. Inquiring minds want to know. lol

I played in the rise of the defiant beta event as a scout/marksman....i got to level 10 before it ended. my impression of it was that it was ALOT like warhammer. even the RIFT EVENTS (that they say these make this game unique) seem just like the public quest areas of war.

The crafting system seems really deep, which i really, really like in an mmo.

The spell/ability/tree system is cool too. the spell animations were great as well.

The quests seem like your normal grind..kill X of these, collect X of those...but there were some epic storyline quests as well that seemed well thought out.

the graphics overall were good, they ran well on my system (2 years old).

i do not have a VIP key, so I really hope i get into the guardians beta event (*cough ZAM cough*)

:)

Hey all I'm hoping to get VIP beta key access for Rifts, was lucky enough to get a direct invite to event #1 and am hoping with VIP access I'll be able to get my wife to play. She walked by and saw it on her way to work for event 1 and was all like "oh, that looks fun..."

Nothing beats having your wife excited about the same MMO as you. Plus it cuts down on potential wife aggro.

Guardian side looks good and I want to learn more about the story on their side because as of now I am fully believing the Defiant's version of the story.

Looking forward to it either way!

Wife Agro, the worst type of Agro.

Tis the time of year to get that wife faction high. If Rift is a 1st or 2nd quarter release as expected, that high faction will be very important. So I guess that means I am buying my wife diamonds for Christmas instead of that new LED_LCD TV I wanted her to have for watching football and the occasional HGTV show.
