What MMO are you playing now?Follow

Haven't seen a post asking this, so just curious, what MMO are you currently playing/what are the MMO's you have played in the past? Also, what draws you away from that MMO towards Rift?

Currently playing EQ2. Been playing off and on since it came out. I feel that the implementation of the "marketplace" while being profitable, is slowly ruining the game. Won't go much further into that, but really curious as to what Rift will bring to the MMO community.
Have played EQ, WoW, AoC, Warhammer, Aion and Vanguard.

I have taken the Warhammer/Conan/Aion route also, but I have been sticking to my fav LOTRO for now. With so many coming out, 2011 might be a new year.

They've yet to charge anyone a monthly sub fee because the game is such a piece of crap.

Bahahahah. Figures... from what I've seen of XIV, the game is CRAP.

At the moment I'm playing LOTRO and WAR... but for WAR, just the trial. =\.

I actually beta tested FFXIV and it has some serious problems. The controls didn't even seem like the game was intended for it to be on PC at all.

Still playing EQ2, though been looking for a new MMO for quite awhile now. I need something thats going to give me at least a little challenge. Seems like they just continue to keep dumbing down EQ2 more and more, makes me sad. :(

sad to say, not playing anything. ive tried almost everything available on the interwebs, some of which just didnt grab me, but most of which sucked. definitely considering free wow funserver, if anyone has a good one with more-or-less standard XP rates and such.

basically, just waiting for upcoming games. im pretty much excited about them proportionately to their nearness. so apropos to that a VIP key would be extra-crispy =3

I tend to hop around between free mmos....was playing Lotro a month or so ago and got bored with it, then tried out Vindictus...decently fun, but it got old fast. So now I'm back on League of Legends (I know it doesn't count as an mmo technically)

me and my guild are in hiatus, playing lol and other f2p games until a new game comes out that attracts our interest. we have played starwars, AoC, WoW together.

we'd also like to participate in the Rift Beta, but only 4 of us have keys.

Nothing interests me currently so I'm not playing any MMO right now. I might pick up cataclysm next month, after the fervor for it dies down, and play a worgen to max level. I'm really just looking forward to Rift or Tera currently.

Playing EQII currently; have played EQ,VG, and SWG in the past.
Not too keen on EQII's direction, but haven't really found another game that suits me yet.

I just resubbed to Everquest 2 a week ago. I'm Yume, an inquisitor on Nagafen. I'm surprised so many people are still playing Everquest 2. I'm disappointed in the Marketplace, but there are some cool appearance items on there, though I think we should be able to earn those items for free in game (especially as a regular monthly subscriber who's already purchased the game). Anyways, just killing time until Rift (or Guild Wars 2) is released. I played FFXIV from Closed Beta 3, but I'm pretty bored of it. Not much to do aside from grinding a craft. I think the mistake they have made in that game is not incorporating any antagonist or real threat in Eorzea. I mean, you spend your time killing not so menacing creatures (rats, squirrels, sheep... birds, etc.). The guildleves have no lore, and it just makes for an altogether boring game.

EQ2 is definitely still going, albeit a bit less. Lots of server merges lately. And the marketplace is what has killed the sub base for the game, since they debut every new looking item there. I'm still on the fence about it, but I'm pretty sure Velious will determine the fate of EQ2, but its starting to be really dated.

I won't cancel my sub until I find a game that at least equals it, I'm hopeful Rift will be it.

I totally agree. There are fantastic looking items on the marketplace, but when you look at a lot of the higher end raid gear, it looks like complete garbage in comparison. Its just frustrating to see that they are capable of designing great looking items, yet withhold them from us for the marketplace.

While skimming i saw "Velious" and my heart jumped with nostalgia. Man I miss those eq days. Done a few stints on emulators recently but nothing will match the 99-03 era </3

I'd give FF a try since it's free, but I really don't feel like paying for the actual game since it's clearly a giant pos. I TRIED to get back into WoW for cata, but ultimately failed. I've been gone from that since before Wrath. Soooo, I have no current MMO. I'm fiendin'.

You could try EQ2 Extended. Its a bit limited compared to sub, but pretty decent for being free.

I've played EQ2, when it was first released. I'm not sure I could be drawn back into it. I have trouble going back to old games I've previously played it seems. Except for Diablo II. For some reason I just go back to that once a year and level up a char.

This has been the extent of my MMO experience since I quit wow about a year ago. Due to the lack of dwarves and fire in I can not wait for the release of Rift.

Speaking of Morrowind, this mention of elder scrolls V is making the game anticipation almost unbearable.

I'm still officially subscribed to FFXIV but I haven't logged in for over a month.

I've played a bit of EQ2, but after the Rift Beta1 my heart really isn't in it.

I managed to get into the DCUO Beta the week after Rift Beta1, and it was fun checking that out for a while, but I'm much more interested in getting back into Rift :)

I played Aion until a month ago, but faction balance broke it...making the dominant faction quit playing after the other faction had quit. I think it's balanced now with like 1/10th the population it had 1 year ago.

Atm playing BF:BC2.

Jumping around free mmorpgs, hoping that one of them might be interesting. So far no luck.

Vindictus stood out more due to the unique combat system. I still go on it once in a while.
I stick more to RPGs now such as Elder scroll IV (The land is way too big, I can probably play this game for years and years).

Playing RIFT beta really bumped up my holiday. Sealing rifts and fighting off invasions made this game unique and more interesting.

Crossing my fingers for a stable official release of RIFT.

Cheers
