53 seconds late on twitter and yet again code not available... 3 more come up and less then 5 seconds on the twitter post and all 3 are used immediately...does anyone else feel cheated by these twitter bots stealing our keys and selling them on ebay? personally id like to find out who is doing it and punch him in the face... but thats neither here nor there. feel free to comment on this.

This whole key thing isn't the best way to handle a closed beta. Tbh it makes the whole thing feel like a gimmicky open beta.

From what I've seen, CB's are not supposed to be announced... the devs pick and choose and send emails out. I'd say this is an OB. Either that, or you're supposed to find out that company is having a CB.

But, the times, they are a'changin... so I really have no idea anymore.

There are also people, not botters, that simply have all the windows open and ready to go. Still sucks, though.

I don't like how they post keys and make them up for grabs. Too easy for botters or sellers to snag extra keys. Instead, I don't get why they don't do what I've now seen them finally doing and winners supply their username, and the key is applied to their account. Way less chance of exploiting the system or grabbing extra keys to sell.

Of course, that means more work for the CS team. And sadly, just about every decision made in relation to mmorpgs these days can directly be traced back to whether the company will save money or not. I know it's just a business, but at some point when your business loses the sort of passion and spark, and seems all about business, the business becomes less appealing.

I get that contests and applying codes takes more time and money, but imo it's worth it, as it's far more fairer to the community, and also simply more fun. The caption contests are great and build actual community interaction. Have fans DO something for the keys, not just race to the trough like hungry pigs.

I've seen them do teeny 'events' on the official forums for keys... but they are definitely few and far inbetween. However, they have community managers, so =\ I don't see why they don't do what you suggested, popsicle. It's very odd seeing people making money off this... and Trion is letting them get away with it. =\. Course, like you said, if it's not affecting business (or helping business) I don't think they're gonna fix it anytime soon.

Yeah they go insanely quick. I've yet to be able to get one after they've posted on Twitter.

I was thankfully, and luckily, able to get a key through ZAM, because twitter is near impossible. I tried to get another key for my brother through twitter today, I had my phone set to get a text from the tweets, I was near my PC all day with both windows opened, all I had to do was refresh, copy, paste, submit. I was getting times from 15-30 seconds after post and all gone. I'm thinking there probably are bots out there for this.

Either way it's retarded. The twitter giveaways, because they look like they're the easiest, are totally the most difficult to get. The facebook ones are just as bad. Even when they hold a "contest" or whatever, you still have to make your entry in the first 10 minutes of the contest or they won't even bother reading it. Did you guys see the winners from that caption contest? What a joke. Worse picks than America's funniest home videos. /rage

Zam is where they're doing it right. I'll never post in the official forums again.
