I didn't make it to far in open beta, so I do not know to much. They have instance warfronts. The first one at level 10-19 is exactly like temple in warhammer. The second one is exactly like AB in WoW. They get boring fast since it is the same old same old. They are cross server so there is less chance of running into the same premades, that is good for people that like to solo. I hear the next warfront might be like AV from WoW. I didn't make it that far. If it is like the old AV when it first came out, that will be great. A large static battleground where you can zone in and find immediate action that is balanced by numbers. I remember fighting for hours and hours. But if it turns out like AV's did later in WoW, it will really suck.
After level 20, zones on pvp servers become contested so you can gank people and be ganked. They should maybe consider placing level caps on it. Attacking greys is kinda lame, ganking a group of equal levels while they are killing NPCs is fun though. Sometimes you die, sometimes you kill them.
I also heard the main PVE loot drops are from rifts. So you can have pretty decent amount of conflict in zones when rifts are be contested. Basically both sides fighting to open or close them, that could be really fun I think on balanced servers....really crappy on not so balanced ones.
There best bet for pvp in this game is to make a large instance battleground. 100-150 vs 100-150. You can control how many enter based on numbers to keep it balanced. Warhammer proved rvr doesn't work with two factions. I see a lot of pvp servers busting if numbers get out of wack esp when the main rewards need to be done with rifts that are contested.
If this game doesn't figure out a good way to do pvp, I see it not doing so well in the long run, especially when some decent MMOs are coming out in the following year.
