One of the most requested features from our users here at ZAM Rift was for a Soul Tree Calculator, and we’re pleased to announce that we now have a beta version of the Soul Tree Calculator ready for you to use!

Try the new Soul Tree Calculator!

As you’ll probably notice, we’re allowing users to make builds all the way up to the level cap, which you certainly aren’t able to do in the beta. So take some time and figure out just what sort of builds you’ll be creating with your new level 50 Pyromancer/Elementalist/Archon because it’s certainly doable in the calculator.

Like all new features, we are still working out a few kinks here and there. If you run into one not listed below, please feel free to PM me about it with as much information as you can muster. (browser and browser version, what tree, etc.)

Known Issues We’re Working On
-----------------

- The ability “Dismiss Pet” is showing up as Druid soul ability, and not the other 4 souls who can use it as well
- Internet Explorer 7 does not behave presently. Please upgrade to IE8 or use another browser (FireFox,Chrome,Safari) in the meantime while we work on fixing that.

- using "All-In-One gestures" (and possibly similar software) will not work with the stc workaround: if the button to initiate a gesture is the right mouse button, try setting it to middlemouse or something else. The problem is the browser never gets the 'hey, someone clicked' action from right mouse with this software active. -- also, you may now shift-click on things and it should behave like right-click.

Known IE only bug that we didn't catch until an hour or two ago. It works fine in FF or Chrome. We'll be fixing this as soon as we can get to it.

The real solution to that bug is to uninstall IE, but whatever. That came out pretty cool though. Not all of the warrior skills are defined just yet either though. But I have a feeling that is not necessarily fixable at the moment.

I wish there was a way for it to calculate how much extra stats you receive based on the abilities you have. (A lot of the skills add % armor, dodge, etc. Yes we can do the math ourselves but then we wouldn't need a soul calculator in the first place now would we :P.

This is probably one of the best planners out there. Good work.

I think I've located one additional bug. In the Cleric's Justicar tree the Reparation ability requires 3 points spent in Vengeful Justice in order to take it, I'm pretty sure that should be Life's Devotion if anything. I think Precept of Refuge, Safe Haven, and Commitment all have a similar issue where the prerequisites are wrong.

I don't think these trees are the trees we know. I have a feeling they all changed a little bit. I think some of the warriors skills are different from what I remember as well.

Some icons, when clicked seem to not react to being activated (especially in Sentinel tree). If you refresh the page, you should see them fixed. This may be a bug or just a browser glitch.

fixed a bug where if you put 51 points in a tree, it said you had to be level 51. I can do math, really I can.

I believe you have to use the same points you would allocate to other souls, so still a maximum of 66 points spread throughout all your souls.

Nothing is forcing you to put 26 points into a pvp soul, and many of the good abilities are early in teh tree. Additionally you won't necessarily be gimping yourself on damage. The warrior pvp soul can get a fairly constant +20% damage and even going as high as +40%. Rogues get +10% damage, +10% armor penetration, and +10% crit. Furthermore, even the abilities that increase survivability end up increasing your damage, because dead players can't DPS :)

Bugs:

Cleric -> Justicar -> Reparation
Reparation does NOT require 3 points in Vengeful Justice.

Cleric -> Justicar -> Safe Haven
Safe Haven should require 1 point in Precept of Refuge, not 5 points in Commitment.

Cleric -> Templar
Skills don't have PVP rank requirements

You can right click to remove a point. This builder is very laggy, so sometimes you need to wait for everything to load before you right click, just like you need to wait when hovering over skills because the last tooltip hasn't disappeared yet.

Are you using IE? It's not laggy in FireFox or Chrome. We are working to resolve that issue in IE.

Another talent bug:
Cleric -> Templar -> All tier 4 skills
These shouldn't need 15 points to slot - simply having the tier 3 skill that points to it should be sufficient.

I'm also running into a bug not being able to remove points I put into Resilient (tier 1 of the Templar tree)

Using Chrome 8.0.552.237.

On occasion, picking a Soul will cause parts of the page to shift around, making the calculator unusable until refreshed.

- Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/w2Tsz.jpg (I picked the Cabalist, then the Inquisitor, then when I picked a third soul the page spazzed out and that's what that's a shot of)

- Another one, encompassing two screenshots, because it extended down the page: http://i.imgur.com/IF70s.png and http://i.imgur.com/ujdHp.png (in this one, I was attempting to pick the first soul for the build)

- Cleric -> Cabalist: Debt of the Dead, Frostburn, Frigid Waters, Deep Water, and Shadow Legion have no description in their tooltips.

- Cleric -> Purifier: The tooltip for Flame Ward simply reads "Increases Armor". My memory is rusty but I believe it increases armor by 1/2/3/4/5% after casting a healing spell.

- Mage: The calculator refers to Elementalist as "Elemental Summoner," but Rift's site refers to it explicitly as the Elementalist. Not sure where the confusion arises here.

- Mage -> Elementalist: Improved Exposure claims to require 2 points in Improved Quicken Elements. It actually requires 1 point in Exposure.

Are there some things you guys know that we don't know for these trees?

Looking at the Riftstalker tree:

Cautious Stalker: only 1 pt instead of 3

Hardened Stalker: also only 1 pt instead of 3

I'm just basing this off of what I've seen from other builders so is yours more accurate? Did they change it to be 1 point for these talents now? I haven't checked to see any other issues yet but I just thought I'd ask how accurate all of your talents are.

Lot's of issues with Link to build, which has me still using older Soul tree's right now. I really like this one, but not linking right makes it kind of pointless. All the points I tried in Pyromancer above Burning Bonds would not copy over in Link to build, Safe haven in Justicar also doesn't copy over in link to build correctly. I don't know what else, because Pyromancer was my main spec and it was frustrating. I only know about Safe Haven because a friend linked me his build and it was missing from it.

Can't edit my other post for some reason but I'm unable to remove points with right click while using Chrome. Any idea what's wrong with that?

edits:

Riftblade:
Rift Barrier requires 1 in Improved Rift Barrier. I'm guessing you wanted Improved Rift Barrier to require 5 in Rift Barrier instead.

Is that specific to a certain soul or all of them? I can't duplicate this issue in Chrome.

Also, pre-requisites being reversed is being fixed.

Can you link me a specific build along with what is missing from it? It would really help us with debugging the issue. I can't duplicate it following your instructions.

Just tried it now with the Riftstalker and it seems like you have to move from the top down if you want to remove points from the tree even if I have more than enough points to cover for the tier that I was at.

http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MpNV.EGt0x.xh.g0dm0sMMM

take that build for example and try to remove points from unseen fury and you'll see that you're unable to even though I have plenty of points to cover me for the 3rd tier of talents.

Paladin soul. Unless it has changed from Beta 4, Touch of Life (8 pt root ability) should be a 20 minute cooldown that "Heals an ally the equivalent of 100% of the Warrior's health." Right now it has a 10 minute cooldown 100% heal on the Warrior only.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this yet: the "Level Required" is completely wrong. It just mirrors the "Points Used".

Remember, you get an extra point every 3 levels (ending with 66 points at level 50).

For me, this is one of the BIGGEST bugs right now. Why? Because in release, it will be nice to know, but NOW, during beta, when our levels are limited, it is really important to see what is possible by level xxx (20 for B3, 27 for B4, 30 for B5, etc).

We are correct about this. While you get an extra point every 3 levels, you can only put as many points into a soul as is equal to your level. If you put 4 points into one soul, while you get 4 points at level 3, it requires level 4 to put 4 points into it.

The exception being level 50, where you can have 51 points in a single soul.

Hello guys
maybe a little help to get your calculator running properly.

as i added the ranger-soultree as 2nd soul to my soultree (1st soul bladedancer) and added points in skills, the layout from the ability-list-table was almost destroyed (and i just recognize it's happening with just my bladedancer-tree).
so i think something must be fixed with the table format?

also i couldn't remove points from skills anymore (with right mouse).
i had to start all over (reload)
and i don't know if you're having all the data up to this date, but some skill-descriptions didn't update after spending skill points to them. this happened before i added a 2nd soul, too.

and how is it with the extra-soulpoints you get during leveling up (besides the 51)?
in calculator it looks like you get 51 points till you reach lv51 (that's not possible as we know), having 15 points left.

maybe my translation isn't the best, i'm a german, but i hope it's helpful.
see ya in beta 5 ^^

oh and i'm using firefox 3.6.13

These problems should all be fixed, now. They were worked on over the weekend and needed to be tested before we put them on our live servers.

If you only spend 51 points and they all go into a single soul, the display says "requires level 50" because you can only have as many points in a soul as is your level. Level 50 being the exception when you can have 51 points. So, even though you have 15 more points you could spend at level 50, you still require level 50 to have 51 points in a single soul.
