While it's not a major issue, I've found another glitch in the stc. Apparently if you start to build your character by putting points in the tree, then decide to select a different soul without clearing the tree first, you can select souls that you already have present in your build.

Try clearing your browser cache and then go back to the page. I can't duplicate this. I even tried the necro soul in all 3 positions in the soul builder just in case it was panel specific.

I'm having the same issue but not always at same talent button. You get so far and locks up with a script error message. Tried everything I can think of but still can only get so far with it locking up.

Same issue been happening since yesterday. Two examples. Build up in necro tree to Ancient Tomb then browser becomes non-responsive and a stop script dialog comes up. Stop script but every action you take afterwards results in same stop script error. Second example is in the Elemental tree when you go to select greater elemental affinity. Has happened in both Firefox 3.6.13 and IE 8. You basically have to shut down the Zam site and load page again. Have tried all the builds and they work fine. Just tried Necro again and now looks to be working but Greater Elemental Affinity is still causing the script error.

I'm having this problem with the "Greater Elemental Affinity" talent in the Elementalist soul. Tried clearing my cache and still having the issue. It looks like some sort of javascript error.

Edit: I'm using Google Chrome.

Issues with that Necromancer trait and the Elementalist trait were a bug that existed briefly and were corrected in a newer version of the javascript. You may have the old js somehow. Please do clear cache/cookies and hard-refresh the page. I cannot duplicate logged in or logged out on Windows or Linux across a wide variety of browsers. Please let us know if that works. We're happy to help.

Edit: I just made another update to something unrelated and pushed a new version of the script live. We'll see if that helps with any stale copies.

It's on our list of things to add but it's low priority compared to other features we want to implement.

At some point today the 3rd soul selection became hidden in the frame and I can't get it back. I have tried all the things listed in this thread for IE users and I can't get it back.

Prior to today and even this morning everything worked just fine.

I just looked quickly and the archon tree in game compared to our calc is the same. I didn't compare actual ability names to those of in game but the icons and placements are the same.

passive abilities now in the list, removed from OP known issues list.

[ riftstc]build_bit_here[/riftstc ] will let you link builds in chat. Just the bit after the t= or riftstc= is needed.

[ riftsig]build[/riftsig ] for signatures (see mine for example)

That tooltip is wrong (and thats the tooltip in the soulbuilder). A person left a comment on that page saying what it should be.

ETA: you need to doublecheck what it should be, that post is from a beta and im not sure if it changed. I cant remember the wording off hand and im not at home.

Are you going to be adding some sort of summary or printable page like on the Wowhead one? I usually end up typing up my own, but this is time consuming and a pain.

UPDATE: Actually all you need to do is just do File => Print and the page should display in a printer friendly format!

No, that's not what I'm talking about. That just gives me a print out of the trees with a list of spells and abilities at the bottom.

What I'm looking for is a text summary version. Like this:

Uber Caster DPS Tree (51)

5/5 Talent that buffs crit - this talent will buff your crit +5
1/1 Cool Spell - this spell is cool

Etc.

This is available on the Wowhead talent builder, and I'd like to see something like that here.

The data needed for that is not available. It would be a huge undertaking for us to manually keep all of what we'd need up to date. We'd wanted to do it but it just isn't feasible.

Please excuse if this is a repost. I've searched and didn't see anything related.

Had a problem with Internet Explorer 9 and Calculator page display. I'll explain...

Up to yesterday I'd been running IE8, viewing various soul tree builds people have been posting. I could mouse over every ability icon to see the decription. Wonderful tool!

Last night I upgraded to IE9. When viewing the same builds, when mousing over the icons, nothing happens, no info is displayed. The cursor changes like it's directing to a link, but clicking doesn't do anything. Very frustrating!! I scratched my head a couple of times, read through the forums...didn't find any reference to this problem.

I uninstalled IE9 which reverted me back to IE8, and voila!, mousing over abilty icons gave me the descriptions like before. Yay!

This post is meant as a "heads up" for users, not a "please fix" post because IE8 works fine for me, and I'm probably in the minority using IE.

Yeah, and the Abilities Granted and Passives Granted tabs don't work in IE9 mode.

You don't need to uninstall IE9, just switch to IE8 mode for the Soul Builder page [hit F12 to bring up the F12 developer tools at the bottom of the window, then switch "Document Mode" to "IE8 standards"].

Known IE only bug that we didn't catch until an hour or two ago. It works fine in FF or Chrome. We'll be fixing this as soon as we can get to it.

this is not a bug, this is the size of your viewing window being set wrong, if your in IE9 like i am simply hold CTRL and use your mouse roll to increase/decrease the size of the window until all 3 soul trees are alligned correctly. ^_^

what i would like to know is, how do i post my own builds in there? ive seen so many and the ones ppl are calling the best are so horribly bad that its not even funny i would like to help.

I can't get past putting one point into an ability. If I put one point into Spirit Guidance it doesn't let me put anymore so I can never get to 5/5. Also, once you put a point in the calculator the tooltip for what that ability does go away. If you're making a build and trying to decide what may not be necessary out of abilities you've already chosen that is very frustrating!

I'm using IE 7 (old I know but it's what we have at work)!

I would like to make a suggestion; if possible somewhere on the soul tree calculator page put info regarding which version of Rift is being used as the basis so we know its the most up to date information when taking into account patches. I think its an extremely useful tool overall though, thank you.

I've figured out a problem with using [riftstc ] [/riftstc ]. When you have multiple ones in the same line, they combine into some horrific link of death. Simply having them on different lines fixes the problem though.

[riftstc]0MMpV.0ARftoboddo.VI0GhqbRkz[/riftstc] + [riftstc]0MNVp.xb.x0d.EItIuqdRkkR[/riftstc]

Quote:
[riftstc ]0MMpV.0ARftoboddo.VI0GhqbRkz[/riftstc ] + [riftstc ]0MNVp.xb.x0d.EItIuqdRkkR[/riftstc ]

vs

[riftstc]0MMpV.0ARftoboddo.VI0GhqbRkz[/riftstc]
+
[riftstc]0MNVp.xb.x0d.EItIuqdRkkR[/riftstc]

Quote:

[riftstc ]0MMpV.0ARftoboddo.VI0GhqbRkz[/riftstc ]
+
[riftstc ]0MNVp.xb.x0d.EItIuqdRkkR[/riftstc ]

edit: clicking the link on the first one still takes you to the proper build for the 1st of the two links though.

The following link states 59 point allocation at level 45. At level 45 my character in-game has 60 to spend.

I found the link on a guide page dated 20th May 2011.

Hey Johnboy :)

There actually is nothing wrong with that. Points 59 and 60 can be spent at level 45; whomever's build that is simply didn't spend the 60th point.

Hope that clears it up!

Noticed that the Chloromancer Tier 2 skills EMPOWERED VEIL and NATURE'S CORROSION did not appear in the passive abilities section when selected. It maybe a fluke with the build I was viewing. Going to check into it further.

Yep! Trion didn't put data out yesterday (seems to me they were a tad busy). So as soon as they do that we'll be all over it like ants on sugar.

Hey guys, I have a problem.

I've been using the soul builder quite a bit without any issues up until now. After this most recent update, I can no longer see the mouseover tooltips for the abilities. Previously, there were one or two that would flash on/off, but now they're not there at all. EDIT: Hovering over the soul is the only tooltip I see.

Is this a problem with my browser (IE 9)???

Thanks :)

I just tried is with Firefox 3.6 and it's working there. Do me a favor, before I go bug a dev, could you dump your cache for the site? Or, try shift-F5 to refresh from scratch?
