With the new changes to un-attackable shardstones (or whatever they decided to call them) they took away a significant mechanic of the game. Many are claiming that it was to stop griefers, but that is not griefing.. its fighting the other faction... these two factions hate eachother, and on a pvp flagged server i just don't see the downside. Even with the changes griefing can still happen very easily, sit in a rift, the newbies will aoe you and be red for a good amount of time.. anyways just aimless thoughts feel free to chime in.

The two factions do not hate each other. They have different lore that's all.

Wardstone immunity did not destroy world PvP. Still you can occupy a quest hub, you just need more friends. The downside was that the wardstones gave XP/Favor and respawned in seconds, this was not intentional. Second reason was that it was to easy to shutdown a whole area, preventing lots of players from progression. And yes, it is on a PvP server, but if lower level players have no game mechanism to counter it, it is griefing and will cost Trion money in the end.

What destroys world PvP is warfronts. Many past MMO's has showed that players want the easy road to fame and gaining favor and thus gear is best and fastest through warfronts.

And let us be honest. Real World PvP is non existing in Rift. You need to get gear through PvE for the first 49 levels.

Side note.
World PvP is what you make of it. You still can roam around searching for PvP or just camp an entrance to a dungeon. Do not let devs tell us what to do :)
