I was thinking the other day ... wow ... a lot of **** if OOC.

I had a great idea.

1) each character has Soul Marks.

2) the more Soul Marks you have the more you pay per month.

3) you get Soul Marks for saying dumb **** in OOC

ex. This game is just a copy of WoW .. It will never replace WoW .. Discuss ...
-- they will receive an email to their account saying that since you are an *** hat you will not pay 24.99 per month for the opportunity to play Rift.

this would include calling clerics OP, comparing your rouge to Allakhazam, and making general racial slanders off the fly.

this would not only get idiots off the servers but for those who really want to stay it generates revenue and hopefully can be put back into the developers to create even more content.

Ah, so the people that say dumb stuff get to pay more every month, and the people that don't say dumb stuff get to pay more every month to hire staff to read through and assess every chat log. Everyone loses!

Besides the fact thatsoul marks sound like a positive mechanic:p

As annoying as the WoW people are if they are paying for Rift, they are paying to have this game improved and if they dont like it and leave tha that is there loss and we win.

I think the idea is funny. If only this could be appled to real life sometimes :P

The WoW fanboy crap will die down over the next few months... It happens everytime we get a slew of WoW players checking out a new game.... they have nothing to compare to except WoW, and so they are constantly referencing how this or that is like or not like wow... Once the game populations settle in, the fanboi talk stops.... you should of seen some of the rants that went on when EQ2 first launched....

I think it should also apply to people that can't tell the difference between rouge and rogue.

Come on, everyone knows rouges are overpowdered, don't they? :)

The idea is quite unrealistic but it has a certain attraction.
What about blowing up any OOC-villain with a RPG-Launcher? I like the play on words there ;)

There is a huge segment of the MMO population which is migratory. They play a beta, play for the free month, ***** and moan, then move on to the next big thing.

I assume your suggestion was exaggeration based on exasperation. Otherwise, it's pretty stupid.
