Can I Run ItFollow

#1 Feb 22 2011 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
Okay I've got what seems to be a decent computer (well decent for me :P) but I was wondering will I be able to run rift. Nothing fancy just will it run smoothly (ish) on minimum settings. On system requirements lab I got halfway between minimum and recommended.

VGN-CS11Z
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Graphics:9300m GS (Total memory:1903MB with 256MB dedicated)

Also is there any upgrades I can do? (considering I'm on a laptop)

• Windows XP / Vista / W7 (with latest service packs installed)
• 2GB System RAM or more
• Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core processor E2180 (2.0GHz) or faster
• 512 MB video card with Direct3D and Shader 2.0b (512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or better) - NOTE: most 512 MB video cards meet this requirement.
• 10 GB of free hard drive space
• DirectX 9.0c (installed during setup if needed)
• DirectX 8.1 Compliant Sound Card - NOTE: Every sound card made since release of Windows XP meets this requirement
• Keyboard, mouse, speakers (optional)
• Broadband Internet Connection (Internet Connection using DSL, Cable Modem or other high-speed connection)

These are the required specs to play Rift.

yeah your video card is your weakest link (as is usually the case with laptops). Judging from the specs you listed it looks like an integrated video card, which means that it is most likely not upgradeable.

It might run though /shrug.

Rift has a minimal setting in the video options and I have run it on a similar laptop. However it does lag a bit, especially during invasions and rifts when there are alot of players in one area. That laptop has a built in shared vid card which usually cannot be upgraded.

You can run it—it just won't look very good.
