Hey guys Figured I'd hop on the forums right quick since the servers are down . Was just wandering in the future if servers need to be updated or patched for what ever reason can we do it before or after prime time ? 5-8 is when most of us are on , in dungeons and deep into game play . Our guild was right in the middle of a 5 man , kinda sucked . But o well guess thats how it works . Great game so far I am really enjoying it , thanks !

You... do realize this site isn't run by Trion, right? We have no control over what they do.

Personally I think things are going quite well, all considering. I've been on most of the afternoon and evening today, and there have only been two short downtimes. Half an hour isn't too bad, IMO.

Did annoy me a bit because I was in IT when it struck >_>

This may be just because I was in the beta but it still feels like it isn't quite done yet. It's by no means worse for it, it just feels... not done.

Not exactly sure why you feel like it's not done. Sure the servers might be going down a couple times a day for 30 minutes, but all-in-all it's a fantastic (pre)launch. It's to be expected to be just a little shaky at first.

Anyway, as for having server down-time at non-prime hours: they do. I encountered server down time the other day at 6am (3am sever time) while in the middle of Iron Tombs on my Cleric. But if something comes up, I'd rather wait 30 minutes and have it fixed than play all night without the technical fix. Just give it a few days and it will be smoothed out.

The game's just being launched. Take it easy.

Again, coming from FFXIV, RIFT feels like it's been out for years.

(And no I don't mean that as an analogy to WoW)

I don't mean the servers at all. People who are complaining that they had to wait to get on a popular server the day of launch within the first hour of a launch that was in the middle of the day are weenies.

Most fixes are in classes. I am not saying some are overpowered or underpowered but some just seem not completely fleshed out and there are a few other quirky problems. The game is still amazing but I just keep expecting random problems to show up, like in the beta.

Like the fact that if you link an item like "Hill Grape Wine" in chat (with the profanity filter on) it shows up as "Hill G**** Wine" and the fact that I can buy an Ascended Power twice. (You lose the planarite but still only have one ability whcih is better than getting the ability added twice too).

These are by no means game breaking but are also little things that probably have quick fixes. It just feels weird to me. I am by no means bashing the game in any way. I love it and KNOW that these are not huge problems even worth complaining about but it just still feels like beta to me for some reason.

The censoring is just a matter of profanity filters. ****, even the old Blizzard forums would censor grape. Just turn off your profanity filters. That simple.

As for class issues, that'll be worked out over time. If you look at World of Warcraft, it's been out for over 6 years and they're still balancing, tuning, and even redesigning class mechanics on a regular basis.
