Hi, I've currently got a level 21 rogue but can't come up with the build I want! I'm trying to find something for maximum dps in a group, raid, or rift. But I also want to be specced for some fast leveling, any help would be appreciated.

For a melee solo build, I've had great success with this (stopped with points at your lvl 21)

http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0Mipc.iIzM.L.xc

from there on out, i mix in rift and nb with more in nb for dps and the rift for some endurance, more plane shift and armor bonus for survival. I can solo 3-4 same lvl mobs without to much trouble. The hp with kill on unused combo points makes for almost no down time unless I pull to many mobs and am just trying to survive.

This is close to what Im at at 40 (without checking my toon) and I will likely put a few more into bard (for a bit more healing as these lvl 40 mobs do hit kinda hard) and the rest into NB.

http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0Mipc.iItM0oGM.tchh0o.xc

You could make a ranged version with ranger/marks/bard or ranger/sab/bard for a good ranged solo build, but Im a melee guy and it keeps me on my toes with this build at least a bit.

For pure dps, I have been using a NB/Sin/BladeD with 6 into BD for the dex buff and the 31 pt talent into NB..havent perfected that one by any means, but it hits pretty hard combining expose weakness, and a NB opener from stealth and a mix of finishers.

Hope it helps, and please any one else, let me know if these look ok to you :)

I personally think being melee is pretty fun as well, I'll give it a shot. Thanks so much for the help.

I'm having stellar success with my rb-asn-sab. (sab is just in there for adhesive bomb)

You can keep up a surprising amount of crit with Riftblade once you get enough teleports and the heal-on-kill helps a lot. Asn allows you to take advantage of all the crits and deal some crazy damage.

Funny thing (granted I expect this is a bug) is you can also stealth->sap an NPC and use the sab charges to build combo points while they're still sapped to get off a riftstrike->final blow->1 point attack->detonate for quite a bit of damage with almost no chance of reprisal fairly early in your career.

That and the amusement of being virtually untouchable between teleports, stuns, RB's defenses and the adhesive bomb for running away.

It's a heck of a lot of fun. I haven't run into someone that can outdps me yet except in really specific scenarios. (like mana users against void knights, or heavily physical resistant enemies)

NB/BD/Ranger.

This is the fastest I've found for melee and also has retarded survivability since your pet tanks everything.

All I do is bind petattack to a button and send my pet in first to hold aggro and not have to deal with being hit ever. Plus its fast as ****. I run this build at 28 and I have no problems with mobs whatsoever.

Krenshin - I'm no moderator but this topic will probably be moved to the Calling Discussion Board really soon and I just wanted to point out that that is a great source to go to if you are wanted more soul build advice.

Later.

Group DPS build differs from solo build. At your level I would not recommend any build for group play to maximize your DPS instead play what you like. If you buy your second role you can switch on the fly. I recommend you get some sort of range build for rifting as this will get you higher on the contribution. Or use Bard, which is a fun class to play also.

For solo build I can recommend a RS/BD/SIN build.

Something like:
http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MVpM.xddVuoRRbbz.VG0h.0VRfx0b0z

First get Rift Scavenger from the RS soul. This will give you no down time. Then build up in the BD soul. When you get Dancing Steel, then it is getting fun. Once every 2min. You can AoE down several mobs where 8 is pushing it. Gather mobs, get 5cp on a mob, hit Side Step, hit Dancing Steel. Mobs die and you have full HP.

After 32p in BD, put points in Assassin so you can increase your damage and get permanent stealth.
