Hello all!

Let me give you some quick personal background - in MMOs I waste time on relatively pointless things. If it means anything to anyone, I have" Insane in the Membrane" on my WoW Druid. That... was a good few months of my life Smiley: lol And of course, Rift's achievement system has me very interested. Right now I'm trying to complete the achievement Stonefield Defender, which consists of finding and killing 10 of the 14 rare enemies in Stonefield. For the past couple of evenings I've camped down the Sentient Cruour, which FINALLY spawned while I was around last night. Other than that I've just run between Rendfang and Bahezerk's spawns, but no luck yet. I have killed Boneseeker and Stridal simply by getting lucky and finding them. But for those keeping count at home, this means I need 7 more kills... and our wiki only has seven rares with entries in it.

So I'm asking for help in locating the rest! I'm looking for information on:
-Gnarvul
-Nela Valcuthren
-Stone Rend (oddly in our wiki as Sten Rend, but I think that's just a spelling error on our part)
-Xoxtillus
-Gorehorn the Mighty
-Questing Overseer
-XT-300

If you find the enemy feel free to edit the wiki entries (like I did for Sentient Cruor and Boneseeker), but if you post in here I'd be happy to provide a rate-up and my thanks Smiley: smile Cheers, all!

Edit: Bam, Google searching turned up Stone Rend, a cockatrice, at 4807, 5120. One down, six to go. Then many hours spent hunting them Smiley: tongue

Edit2: Found a spot for Nela Valcuthren in Quarrystone Basin!

Bah, fine.

Bloodwhisker - elite cat that roams around the area northeast of Perspice where the npc is that gives the repeatable boar quest for Defiants.

Gravelfist - elite rock golem that roams around the area directly east of Perspice with all the elves.

Shadow Harvester (I'm 90% sure on this one, but I don't have an actual screenshot of it) - elite ghost that roams around in the area with the zombies / elves north of the road in southern Scarwood.

I don't have actual coordinates for these at this point but I'll get them for you tonight. I do have pictures of the first two as well but will need to take some time to crop them, etc.

Looking in our own rare mob compendium, Gravelfist is around 3692, 4242 and Shadow Harvester is around 3950, 4675. Bloodwhisker is not in our compendium yet, so I'll work on that tonight :P.

Sorry about Stone Rend. I added that one I think. I don't remember spelling it wrong though. I normally check that.

Nah, the achievement's wiki spelling was messed up - your entry was fine, but the achievement had a link to the non-existant "Sten Rend." I just corrected the link Smiley: grin

Argh, conflicting info! So both Gormungun and Stone Rend are listed in our wiki as being around the same area, 4174, 5104. This is in the mountains north of the entryway to the Last Valley.

But this forum here says:
Quote:
Gormungun spawns in Stonefield, as you leave Granite Falls and go up a hill there's a pond on your right which he spawns on the other side of against the mountain. For reference the mines where the desperate miners spawn is on the left of the same path
He dropped a green dagger.
FYI, some people might not be aware but it appears the rares have a small blue diamond at the top of their portrait which distinguishes them from named quest mobs.

In this same exact place a Cockatrice mob called Stone Rend popped on me. It dropped a green helm for Warrior called Stone Rend Helm or something like that.

Anyone have word on that? Do these two spawn north of the entrance to the Last Valley, or on the far side of the lake south of the Desperate Miners cave, approx 5190, 5230? I'd hate to be waiting in the wrong spot!

Same for my experience in regards to the portion I highlighted above.

DETAILS:

I was riding past that small pond and turned around and went back because a foraging node appeared on my mini-map. As I got closer on the side against the mountain I saw a red-colored cockatrice type mob and I had never seen one of those ANYWHERE yet, so I clicked on it and noted it's name "Stone Rend" and the blue diamond at the top of it's portrait. I killed and looted a green BoP leather helm "Stone Rend's X of X" I sat there for about 4-5 minutes chatting with my guild about it and how I wished I had not had 'auto-loot' on so I could have allowed one of our leather armor wearers to come loot it.

When I was done, I turned BACK towards the mountain to go get that forage node and not more than 10-meters from where I had killed Stone Rend, I WITNESSED Gormungun spawn! LOL So I killed him also and he dropped a BoE Helm. (Can't remember the armor type). Not bad for 6-minutes work, eh? :P

Anywho...that's my experience with those two.

Thanks, that's great! I'll hunt around there next, then Smiley: grin When you say "on the side against the mountain, do you mean actually by the lake itself or up against the mountain past the lake? There's probably a good 30 yards between the lake and the mountain behind it.

Slight update:

Not sure if the info on Stone Rend was wrong before, or if it can spawn in multiple places. I found Stone Rend last night (on Alpha, not Live... ARGH!) west of Granite Falls. Previously it was said it spawned by the pond on the opposite side of the path leading to the desperate miners (who are in a cave surrounded by trolls). The spawn is actually the small pond across from the scaffolding for the Lucky Pick. Figures I'd been looking in the wrong place >_<

Still no word on the Questing Overseer, XT-300, or Gnarvul.

So, it occurs to me that I was an idiot and didn't really read the OP very well when I originally posted. And apparently no one called me out on it either. :P

No worries Smiley: lol Soon after posting about this, I left Stonefield and went to Silverwood to artifact hunt. Managed to get 3/4 of the rares I need for that achievement. Still need several blue artifacts to complete everything though, so I've got quite a while to hunt for the rest Smiley: grin

Also, if anyone has looked at the mob entries, only the three in my past post are still missing. I can't find any information ANYWHERE, beside one guy who said he killed everything except Gnarvul.

I'm actually going to upload some pictures now - most are of Silverwood mobs though, as I've primarily been there artifact hunting for the past 2 weeks. Only 4 more artifacts to go! (2 white, one green, one blue).

Edit: Sorry, turns out I didn't keep my pic of Boneseeker. But he looks just like any other basilisk. I found him wandering among the undead miners outside Deepstrike Mines. I'm not sure if they'll attack him or not - if so, that's probably why he's tough to find.

Hey. :)

Good News: The three missing mobs will be implemented with 1.2.

Her´s the passage from the Patchnotes:

"STONEFIELD
* Taking the Trog for a Walk: Goorn should now properly reset when a player abandons this quest.
* The Smoldering Tormentors of Rock Ridge have grown more numerous!
* The Last Valley: Centius respawns more quickly.
* Stealing Glory: Only players on this quest should receive Soul Essence.
* Extra Strength Relief: The Fluid Injector now dismounts players at the start of use.
* Gnarvul, Questing Overseer, and XT-300 have now been sighted by reliable sources in Stonefield."

regards,
Rick
