DPS stats worthless for dps warriorsFollow

So yes, very much irritated at the fact that my class, warrior, does not seem to get any buff damage wise from gear. i've tried naked and fully geared, in caster gear, both riftblade and other classes, and nothing so far is doing anything noticably different. it really sucks that the only way i can do more damage is to level and buy new ranks of gear, but what happens when i hit fifty an there aren't any more ranks? the only incentive i have right now to get more gear is simply the survivability factor, ie; tanking. wonder what trion's gonna do when they start getting people ****** off yelling at them cuz warriors wearing tank gear will do the same damage.

Also tooltip info is very lacking, as in how else am I to spec stat wise? I'm a riftblade and really the only stat i think i could want is crit, but wich one? spell crit or physical? should i gear rogue for melee crit? or cleric for spell crit (cuz of the above paragraph, the only damage modifier that works IS my ability to crit.

Discuss.

Do your abilities not get bonus damage based on AP?

Thats your problem. If you want to be a DPS warrior, i dont think Riftblade as a primary is the way to do it. Gear greatly effects my uber Champion build and im pretty sure it effects every build except riftblade and maybe voidknight.

Doesn't help Reavers either, though that has little to do with dps.

Yeah it does seem like it's probably an oversight on Trion's part not having Riftblade spell damage affected by... well, anything except rank.

If you DO want to squeeze out a little extra dps though you can stack dex and physical crit. For whatever reason, your crit rate does seem to matter for Riftblade dps.

nope, nothing that says it is affected by AP like a rogue does, and as far as dps goes, Rift is just the class i like the best, i can kill enemies without them even touching me, got tired of drinking every pull with champ, and paragon's lack of burst. i have been looking at the damage log, and confirmed that most my attacks do spell damage, so i'm gonna experiment with cleric gear....

My understanding was that Trion had designed all souls so that you would only ever need gear designed for your own class. However, I'm interested to see if you actually have success with cleric gear... as long as you don't steal it from clerics :P.

Is there good reason for them to let certain classes wear other classes gear and not others besides 'thats what WoW did'? Why can warriors even wear chain or cloth? Why not just have warrior gear, cleric gear, rogue gear, mage gear? That's how the stats are set up.

The armor delineations matters for armor breaking in the craft skills.

Beyond that I'm not really sure why.

well, being the second time i've tried cleric gear (first being lower level) i still do not see any sort of differentiation in my damage. naked, in cleric gear, or in warrior gear i still do the same thing. this is BS. makes me want to go back to WoW. BROOOOOKEN. you can say what you want to about wow, but rift and wow have been around for about the same amount of time give or take a few years, and at least wow wasn't that broken. rift has been in beta for like 5 years, how the **** did someone with a brain allow this to slip past "oh no, they'll never figure that one out"

gonna roll around in tank gear now just for survivability as i ponder going back to wow.

Cheers.

Ps. all those asking why warriors can wear all the gear and others can't? it goes waaaay back to the beginning of RPGs, different str levels were required for each gear, thats why warriors can wear anything, it doesn't make sense that people that walk around in plate all day long and can't wear cloth, what does make sense is other classes that aren't strong enough to haul around that weight all day long not being able to wear higher level armor. it was a tradeoff, plate= slow and powerful, mail= faster but doesn't hit as hard, leather= fastest yet not near as much damage, then casters= weak and frail but can singe your **** hairs off from 50 feet away

its not broken. its pretty clear to anyone with half a brain that the tree doesnt scale just from looking at the abilities.

So yeah, go back to WoW because WoW has a riftblade class that scales.
