I am running a pet class mage and I am finding that range(physical and caster) mobs will not aggro on my pet. I can send my Greater Earth Elemental in let him beat on a mob for a few seconds and the second I cast a spell it is on me. Anyone else finding the same?

I play a Sab/RNG, and find that my pet usually holds aggro all right. I might lose it after blowing up some bombs, but I never really worry about ranged mobs, especially casters. So squishy, so easy to interrupt Smiley: sly

I'll try it out and see if I have the same issue. One bomb, boom, who gets aggro?

I will have to see if the razorbeast is any better... that dang elemental was terrible. I did just get a new rank after I returned to train. I hope that helps.

not finding the same at all*. if you send your pet at a ranged mob after fighting somebody else, chances are his taunt isnt off CD yet and you will pull almost instantly.

He holds aggro as intended from what ive seen, depending on your damage output it might not be sufficient. Dunno what level you are but if you're around 20 or so try out chloro/lock/elem for a build. Its not as fast as, say, pyro, but if you manage your aggro well enough you can take out some pretty crazy stuff. I routinely solo elites, footholds, rifts and invasions and end with full hp and mana heh. Will make you proud of your little pet rock :P

eta: * Im only using lesser elemental

My mage is in the mid 40's. I only recently started having trouble with aggro. I noticed some in Droughtlands with the centaurs and the Erankus.(sp??) This problem seems to be really bad in the northern parts of Iron Pine peaks. I could be just pushing too hard... but I am using the same general rotaion that worked for lower levelP. I can send the pet in with all three abilities off cooldown, wait, and then cast a small DOT and end up with aggro.
