I just got this game today and for some reason I meet system requirements, but the game doesn't have a UI for the Login Screen I just see the background. I can't even watch the opening trailer, I don't even get like the logo..Everything passes the minimum system requirements like I said, I just can't do anything except launch the launcher. Other games that are graphic demanding like Aion are no problem for my computer is there something I need to do?

Only note I can add here is that the Ram recommended is 4GB and I have 3.2GB of Ram is there anyway I can free that up? Or do I have to suck it up and buy new parts?

Edit:

Apparently it seems I need DX 11, but I can't seem to find a way to download it..anyone know a way?

I run the same amount of RAM on my computer and I'm also running XP Pro, but i have not seen any issues with the login screen. Maybe you should try and re-install or check to see if you have the latest video card drivers for your particular GPU.

Unless it has changed since beta, Rift uses DX9.

Well I reinstalled the game 3 times now, (hopefully third time is the charm am I right? yeah..no..maybe..) anywho, the main problem I had was the multi-colored flashing boxes I got starting the game up, then the background of the Rift Login Screen and nothing else. I'd assume it was graphics, but my common sense tells me "I can run the elegant background..but not the UI? So if it's a driver issue I'd greatly appreciate any help with it, or if i need a new DirectX download which I can't figure out. So any help would be greatly appreciated I'd hate to think I wasted my money on this instead of getting a WoW timecard.

Wether or not his game runs in DX11 or not he still needs to have the latest DX runtime libs to even run the game, which you can download from microsoft directly here, I hope that helps. If he forced the game to run without updating it could cause the issues he is having.

I really didn't notice but does the game actually give you the option to d/l the latest DX runtime...i could be thinking of a different game...

although the game does tell you to update your graphics card drivers if they're out of date which was my experience when getting the game and then my GPU took a dump on me and gave me a black screen...

but as for the DX runtime the google search or the link provided by pquegg should help and if that doesn't work than it's time for a new GPU

Edit: Isn't DX 11 still in experimental stages? Since I don't have a monster computer that runs like 2x Quad cores I haven't been interested in DX 11 at all or even researching it
