A Guild Bank is currently in the works and could be implemented as early as Update 1.2. However, no official date has been released. More details here: http://rift.zam.com/story.html?story=25802

Crap a guild bank is coming =/ I feared that. Now people are going to be creating guilds and spamming out invites so that the leader can milk money out of the members. Oh well, I have a lot of crap and limited bank space for myself so it will be somewhat convenient.

I think GBs are a necessity these days, especially as expensive as it is to send a lot of stuff at once. I know for the 2 guilds I'm leading up it will be a welcomed addition and you just set your access rules up with only those players you trust. Also the guild spams will come but you can also set up your settings to Auto Decline Guild Requests if you aren't in one so you won't be bothered by it (at least there is that).

Later.

Thank the makers for this, really. Right now I'm trying to manage a "guild bank" which is essentially a level 7 toon built to hold donations for guild use... great, except that I have to update the bank's page on our guild forums when I get donations, including active links to new objects and etc. (p.s. thank you Zam for giving us that capability). It's just hellishly time-consuming and very inconvenient for people to have to check the guild site in order to view available items, then mail the bank toon to make requests for those items, not to mention keeping the inventory up-to-date.

So again, thank you!!! Really hope to see this soon.

This was what we had to do until they introduced guild banks in EQ and WoW. There was still the risk of the GL just waltzing off with the goods and access was a much more limited thing. Sometimes you had people obliged to share account access so that someone else could log in the guild banker.

A real guild bank is much more secure provided it is set up and controlled properly and from the way Trion have handled most of what I've seen so far I think it probably will be.

I'm not even in a guild and I like it Smiley: smile

Funny thing about guild banks: when I'm in a guild with other people, I never use it. Sometimes I donate this or that, but rarely. And I never take/ask for anything out of it. I remember when they were first introduced in WoW and every scrub and their mother would join a guild and the first thing they would do is run to the guild bank to see what shinies they could try to get their grubby mitts on. It was funny and irritating at the same time.

I had alts with 3-4 tab guild banks, though. Very handy for swapping crafting mats around without having to spend quite so much on postage. Would be an asset in Rift, too. I just rerolled as Guardian on a different shard (same shard cluster) because I was tired of losing 90%+ of my warfronts at 50. Starting over sucks, especially when you're used to having plat lying around for this and that. Between two characters (both level 13) I think I have 3 plat. One is butcher/miner/forager, the other is outfitter/runecrafter/artificer. And probably sometime this weekend I'll make another character and park them in Sanctum as weaponsmith/armorsmith/apothecary. Mailing around mats gets spendy.

I'm super excited for this. An easier way for sharing resources for the guildies... also, more room for my stuff >.< I missed this <3
