Death Rifts: Can we work together?Follow

#1 Apr 03 2011 at 12:36 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, so I'm new to the game. My question relates to death rifts. There seems to be unorganized chaos upon opening a death rift in regard to using the stones to cleanse wolves/werewolves. When is the appropriate time to activate the stones in order to cleanse said mobs? At only level 11, I have trouble holding aggro when there are higher level toons on the same rift event and either I'm doing something wrong in the timing, or they have no idea what to do, as many seem to stand in the middle and attack anything in range. Thanks ahead of time for the feedback.

I recommend stationing yourself next to one of the stones and just activating it as soon as it goes down (there's a few seconds dead time after it deactivates). You know you've done it properly if the wolf or werewolf turns into a phantom when it gets near the stone, that's when you kill it to get credit against the rift objectives.

Frankly, it's a pain, and I hope they don't use this model again for special events because the number of people who just plain don't get it (and won't listen to you if you explain it) is just staggering. The wolf rifts are easily the most frustrating aspects of this entire event

You're telling me, the group I was in told people to NOT stand in the middle and kill the wolves by the stones and let the tanks grab their aggro with taunts and low damaging attacks. We had 5 people jumping around just killing them left and right without even reading their chat box if they even had one on. So I run to the middle and put in /y and begin to yell out instructions. Yes I get called several names by people, but then again it's those same people who didn't listen to begin with.

I watched a guy for 5 minutes on stage 2 of the wolf rift killing endlessly before I stepped in and started doing it correctly. He still didn't figure it out, even after I told him.

We had easily half a dozen people last night screeching (as far as your keyboard can screech) repeatedly at two people to put their pets on passive, and they never got it. One bad apple and all that. I've had the game less than a week and don't really have any clue what's going on, so I'm glad to see that these are part of the special event and not a regular thing.

What do you mean not a regular thing? The rifts were there before the event, and will continue after the event. They probably wont be the same wolf rifts, but there will still be many.

Yea, but all the normal rifts are just kill things til they die.

Yeah, I meant the wolf rifts specifically. They seem to be tripping people up. People who play pet classes. Who don't know which little button does passive.

Another great rift type is the "powering up the dragon" rift when you have to kill the little glowy soul things before they reach whatshername.

Half of the group concentrating on killing the zombies that keep popping up is not how you win it. I've seen the dragon "win" at least 3 times over the weekend :/

I wish the rift won a lot more often tbh. I think they (the regular ones) are too easy. Increase difficulty and increase rewards IMO.

Maz, there is nobody in the entire Zam community who believes that's Dr. Pepper in your mug.

I dunno about that, I know people that would mix Dr Pepper with their Cap'n Morgan instead of Coke.

Fair enough.

Also I just noticed that "Maz" is "Zam" backwards. Coincidence, or conspiracy?
