Can this work as a tank for Rogue Follow

Hey guys this is my first post, and hopefully not my last. Recently I am sure people notice how much the patch has affected the damage output of rogue. This isn't an issue on any other aspect of rogue... except for the rift stalker.

Now for those of you that do not know how rift stalker works is that, you phase shift, aoe hate, buff yourself up through various moves and keep phasing to generate hate and buffs.
After the latest path the Rogue deals less damage so believe it or not it has become much more difficult to keep hate, compaired to the other Classes out there.

What I have come up with (not tested), is Sab(44points spent)/Riftstalker(22points spent)...

You Start off with shrapnel (this gathers 0 hate if you tree it correctly), put 5 charges on him before you start. Then Shadow Blitz, appear behind the enemy (at this point you have all hate)! Then you use Detonate, gather more hate.. Then you use Last Stand, which hurts you but generates a tonne of hate, and damage :)!!!! Then shadow Stalk, appear behind main target, use the move Land Mines this will create this will knock back enemies. At this point the mobs should be close to finished. You can annihilate to gather more hate, or rift disturbance.

Try it out on some runs but make sure they are tier ONE! lol I think Tier two will merk!

I don't believe you have anywhere near enough mitigation with 44 points in sab to survive for any decent length of time if everyone is focusing on you.

Rogue tank trees are Riftstalker and Bladedancer. Going close to or all in on RS gets you tanking cooldowns. RS gets you more than enough aggro control in guardian stance. Bladedancer is a great way to build tons of parry and dodge, plus it has two-target attacks and the 31 hits a lot of people at once.

I did some research on this last week actually, and the conclusion I came to (mostly through talking with several people who tank in T2s and GS) is that you really want to go 51 points in RS if you want to tank. See my sig for what I decided was the ideal spec for me. Obviously it's up to you how much you want to change it, if at all.

With what you posted, I think you're trying to rely too much on Sab moves which won't generate enough threat most likely, and won't give you the mitigation / other tanky abilities you'll need.

There's a really great breakdown of various Riftstalker builds, by Fasc, over on the Rift forums. Check it out, it's a pretty good read.

To be honest, giving up as much as you are from the riftstalker tree, doesn't leave for a very viable spec, in my oppinion. At 22 points spent, you're giving up 40% added threat from Improved Guarded Steel, 30% Endurance from Improved Guardian Phase, and 14.5% damage reduction from Improved Rift Guard (plus the added amount to the maximum overall reduction from your health pool). As I don't know what your proposed spec is, I'm not sure what else you have sacrificed to go so deep into Sab; but the ones you are definitely missing are pretty big things to a rogue tank.

I apologize if I am coming across a "preachy" here. Definitely not my intention, as I am a fairly new rogue tank myself. I have been doing quite a bit of research though, and just wanted to share what I have learned so far.
