Paladin/Reaver/WarlordFollow

I wanted to see what others thought of a tank build of Paladin/Reaver/Warlord of 44/8/14.

44 in Paladin would give Impassable Guard, along with the Tip the Balance and the other Armor buffing goodies that come with Paladin.

8 into Reaver would give AoE threat and heals.

14 into Warlord is for Armor buff, Shield boosting, and Dodge boosting.

Any feedback or ideas?

my question: is impassable guard that good? Because i have a hard time dumping 44 pts into paladin.

I was thinking of using something like this.

All the dungeon whor.. i mean active PvE dungeon raid guildies I know swear by at least 44 in the 'din, most seem to go all-in-din.

Seems to be all about the tanking cooldowns. (a similar reason people go 51 RS as a rogue tank)

I'm unsure of that one. I don't dungeon myself; I stick to stabbing people in the back ;)

Given dungeon mechanics seem to be following the WoW model, though, stacking cooldowns seems appropriate.

It's a mixed bag.

Impassable guard is 10 sec of blocking every minute. Against a single target, thats not very impressive. against many targets that used to be UBER impressive, now, its just impressive for AoE melee. However, i think investing less in pally gives you more bang for the buck regarding AoE.

There isnt much more mitigation to be had in pally that i didnt get in my build, with the exception of 3/3 Hardened Will. You could spec heavier in the other trees to get more threat. From what ive read, now that DPS is gearing up, tank threat is becoming a concern. 16 in Warlord give you Intercept and Imposing, both great threat builders, not to mention the 10% armor, 5% dodge, and 5% block chance.

Then of course reaver has a 5% straight reduction in all damage, crest of the abyss stackable armor/spelldmgreduc buff, mitigation from blood fever, and AoE coming out the ***.

Myself, im very concerned with threat because most everyone is better geared than me, and i need as much threat as i can dish out.

But what do you do against the scripted boss events where he deals wtfpwnage damage for 10 seconds after falling on a mushroom and stubbing his toe or whatever.

You shouldn't ever be worried about expected steady damage. Cooldowns are supposed to be for those scripted "holy crap" moments.

Also might want to try the tried and true 18 pts into VK for the 50% armor/str (assuming you can keep it up ;) )

I gotta admit, I love the block, has worked wonders for those times when that 1 heal would save the day, or any thing really.
