Pets and PVP?Follow

I'm about two weeks in, just getting to the world PVP zones on Tordin (I think.) and I noticed rather early into the Warfront that pets themselves seem to be pretty hit or miss. I'm a 22 Necro/Lock/Dom, the game is fun and pretty easy but thats to be expected. Let it be noted that PvE necromancer is probably the most fun I've had in the game.

PVP wise though, despite the pets getting a nice buff on the Warfront, I notice they aren't really much more then interesting low health roadblocks. My rouge Skeleton gives me the best results so far, but even then I had started to just go to my backup Archon role and support and DPS, because I wasn't getting much done. DoT and longevity is nice, Necrosis and Grave rot are great.

Is there a secret to pet PVP leveling? Is there a benefit to having a pet class in world PVP, because I've yet to find a group of enemies I couldn't particularly outlast, but even with Soul Purge and Charge stacking, I wonder if I'll bite the big one cause my pet can't tank a player.

Something ive noticed, is that at level 50 you really dont see much in the way of pets in pvp. In my experience, at lower levels its easy to pick up a pet class as a 0pt 3rd soul to not only level with, but pvp as well. I leveled my mage as chloro/lock/elem with zero in elem just for the rock pet. And when i pvpd i would be healing the group, but also would have my pet rock attacking a healer at all times.

Generally i will say its best to stick with the pets for PvE and have a role dedicated to pvp. Sure, maybe youll get ganked while questing in your pve spec and get owned. But if they stick around you can always switch to your PvP spec and dish out some pain.

Also a pet won't turn the tide in a ganking situation.

I find pets more of an annoyance in pvp and pve. I already have a billion binds and **** to watch a pet just makes it that much more of a hassle.

thats why you macro a petattack into your spam button and just keep it on passive all the time.

That's not true. I play as a tornado and have a pyromancer pet. It's pretty sweet.

When I do run a pet soul I have petattack bound to a separate macro.

I used to play as an unholy dk in wow. Pet mechanics are second nature to me, but the sheer amount of buttons and relearning everything is making me put the pet class into the background while I focus on my exact setup of binds until I feel 100% comfortable with how they are.
