Today we implemented an improved objects template. It has already been implemented, retrofitted, and the appropriate guides have been changed. Please see http://rift.zam.com/wiki/template:rift%20object for the current template.

PLEASE NOTE: We have, for lack of a better word, "Mobjects" in the database. These are things we were calling objects but the game apparently considers mobs. So ALWAYS SEARCH FIRST and check NPC's before adding a new object.

In the case of Mobjects, do NOT use an object template. Leave a redirect on what would have been the object page pointing to the mob page. See Ancient Wardstone for an example of a mobject done correctly.

As usual, if I've been hopelessly confusing PM me, or email me at calthine @ allakhazam.com!

A further note on Mobjects... as far as we have seen so far, only destructible objects such as Spider Nests and enemy Wardstones are Mobjects (Mobs that are not mobile). All interactive Quest Objects and Resource Nodes are true objects. If you can destroy it, and especially if it can fight back, it's a Mobject.

Where do squirrels fall into the grand scheme of things then? They keep tripping over my blades but they never fight back. ;)

Mobjects are created by Moblins.
