So there a question from the ones that are already tanking. I want to know the popular opinion on which is the coolest tanking :D

I just got the game and I want to be a tank. At first I thought of rolling a Cleric and going Justicar because the talents and abilities seems really fun but after reading a lot about them it seems there's a lot of issues with the calling right now(block not working that well, 2handed vs shield/sword, low spell power issues etc) and I don't want to play a problematic spec. So I want to hear about other specs out there. :) Thanks!

Aside from any other issues the souls have, one of the largest issues with cleric and rogue tanking is that they only have one tanking soul. You have very little flexibility in how you build your tank.

As a warrior you have the most tanking souls and the most options in how to spec your tank.

True but since most people drop 51pts in that single tanking Soul leaving only 15pts left (which there are tanking mitigation type talents low in other soul trees) the point is almost moot. Which is the coolest tank, you would have to play and figure out what you like best.

For rogues, you're better off going with a mix of Riftstalker and Bladedancer, with some bard tossed in too. Going 51 into Riftstalker doesn't help as much as mixing it up.

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. Mostly it will come down to play style. But for every point you don't put in Riftstalker your losing Mitigation and Endurance. Not to mention your root abilities, I don't know if I could go without having the AE taunt they get at 44. Sucks for rogues cause warrior tanks get this as a 14 pt root ability.

Even if you don't go to 44, you still have Rift Disturbance and Shadow Blitz. You can also pick up all the tank talents in the tree for 28 points or so. As for threat, going deeper in Bladedancer gets you several abilities to reflect damage or that trigger off your avoidances. You also get some pretty substantial boosts to your dodge and parry.

It's a personal choice - Riftstalker gets you more pure endurance, but Bladedancer can get you a lot more avoidance and specials.

I will agree its a personal Choice/play style choice. Just remember that Rift Disturbance and Shadow Blitz are AE threat builders. They are not AE taunts. More Riftstaker gives Endurance and Mitigation. I think you can do with only 28 to 32 points in the tree for most things but in the end game aspect I wouldn't expect you to do without some of those root abilities. Personally if I did let go of the AE taunt at 44, I think missing out on the 38 pt "Delay Death" is far too important of a CD for if things get out of control.

I will give you this, going with just the 31 pts I found necessary in the talents, I did make for some fun options mixing other things in. I'm sure it would be fine for regular dungeons. I just don't think I could do it for expert dungeons.

I can give you some idea of the tanking builds, but not of their viability.

Cleric Justicar gives you an extra resource to manage in exchange for decent healing. You are an off-healer, and can help out on AOE healing and slightly on healing yourself. Not a real healer, but you do contribute.

Rogue Riftstalker has blinks and TONS of mitigation, mostly avoidance.

and warrior has the rest of them. There are 3 tanking specs for warrior and I have no idea what they do.

There are actually 4 tanking souls: Paladin, Reaver, Void Knight, Warlord. And they do everything and then some.
