I hit 50 earlier today and I was so stoked, until I got bored. Tried the Port Scion warfront a few times and there wasn't much cohesion with my team so I thought "meh..." and I decided to stick to Black Garden where it's just a gangbang with no protection. Still gets old though.

Fought off a couple invasions in Stillmoor and Shimmering, but there are few and far between with those.

What else is there to do solo for a lvl 50? I'm waiting on my guild to lvl up already so we can start raiding, but until then I'm kind of stuck.

Well if you want to get a jump on your gear progression for raiding, you should look into running expert tier 1 (T1) dungeons, which are basically harder versions of the low-mid level dungeons you may or may not have done while leveling.

Depending on your role you may need to do normal-mode Abyssal Precipice and Charmer's Caldera a few times to gear up for those, particularly if you're looking to be a tank or healer as those tend to be gear-intensive roles

EDIT: I went and dug this up because it's relevant.

Shojindo wrote up a nice guide for what to do when you hit 50 and want to raid: http://rift.zam.com/forum.html?forum=222&mid=130223963467083486&page=1&howmany=50#msg130223963467083486

That should give you the info you need to get ready for whatever your guild is planning to do. Also the stat guide linked in my sig can help with gear choices as well

Callinon, you remind me of an old EQ friend of mine, Naaldin. He was a cool cat, and from your posts. You're a cool cat too.

Now I'm not 50 yet myself, but as far as I see it, there is plenty to do at 50, and plenty I plan to do when I hit 50. That guide is pretty much summarizing my to-do list.

For most MMO's like Rift the game "starts" at max level. Everything prior to that is just practice. Now that doesn't mean you won't get bored, I literally HATE Rep grinding but it's something to do and is good money. Truly, Raiding is where it's at and even at max level it takes a good while to get to the level of gear/experience needed to be functional in said raid(s). As for what to do solo, there's a ton, however you won't be solo'ing Expert anything or Raid anything but pretty much everything else is fair game. Here's a few things to do:

Rep grind (you will need at least 3 Factions at Glorified)

Max out your Profession(s) (including on alts)

Gear up for Raiding (takes a good while to get in full T2+ gear)

Complete Achievements (there is so many you won't run out for a long while)

Work on Prestige 6 and full PvP gear for that level

Level to 50 the 3 other Callings and repeat above

Make an Alt named Banker and create a Guild named < Runs the Auction House >

Make many Alts on many accounts and name them all Prepared (varying the last character) and create the Guild < You are not Prepared > and then go Pwn WF's multi-boxing them all
