Considering buying RIFTFollow

I am considering buying RIFT, but I am currently playing WoW and it looks pretty much the same.
I was wondering, what are the differences between the two? What makes RIFT special? So far, the only major difference I saw is their type of classing, splitting them to 4 classes with 8 trees each.
Thanks in advance, and if anyone know of an option for trial account, I'll be happy to test it for myself prior to buying it.

Yes, there are similarities to WoW, but for me, the difference is the rifts and invasions. That's what keeps me playing. The soul system is a nice touch, too.

Alienware is having a 7 day trial key giveaway, grab one of those and check it out would be my suggestion :)

If it's not too much trouble, I could really use the referral credit. Would also be willing to invite you to Guild and help you get started if you decide to buy the game.

I play as Defiant, Epoch US,
Trial Link

Will buy you your first mount and invite to Guild

Epoch (US) - Defiant

Kilgorre: 40 Warrior
Marvolo: 25 Mage
Sazera: 24 Rogue
Lockhart: 15 Cleric
