Hey guys, first time poster so go easy on me :)

I just dinged 50 and up until now I've been running with the following spec which has worked out great for me while leveling..

rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MMVp.0VMfxcb0z.EbdAzoRRhdz.V

Problem I have now is because Bladedancer has a lot of dodge/parry buffs its probably not too great for raids or instances as half the stuff won't get a look in cos I won't be gettin swung at! (well hopefully)

Should I move over to a Nightblade or Assassin build? Or will the upcoming changes in 1.2 be worthwhile enough to stick with my build?

Cheers in advance.

My rogue runs 4 specs. A tanking, a melee dps (which right now i use as my solo spec for dailies), a ranged dps (which i use for rifts and dungeons), and a bard spec.

while your blade dancer spec wont have as much dps as like a nightblade dps centered spec, who can still use it for soloing and probably do better with it in soloing than with any other spec.

for melee dps you might want to wait till 1.2 drops to see what builds are working... im pretty sure either a nightblade or assassin build will probably deal great dps in 1.2 (my melee dps is a strange build that some guy at trion made up that uses assassin as the main spec)

My melee dps spec is bladedancer focused, and while it is not the common raid spec I still come in top 3 in dps in GSB most of the time. That being said, dodge and parry is pretty much worthless... instead you should check out my spec (see my sig). It is great in experts (Incapacitate + Lost Hope are very nice for CC, and you get good aoe abilities for trash pulls too) and for much of GSB.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. Vataro I tried your spec and its great, I get to keep the talents I'm already familiar with plus some obvious buffs from the Nightblade tree. Kinda should of worked it out myself but thats laziness for ya! Two quick questions for ya tho.

1 - I take it Ebon Fury is for boss fights etc, and pretty much just spam Dusk Strike for 15 seconds?

2 - Where does Puncture fall in on your rotation?

Cheers

Oh god the buffs to the Bladedancer tree are ****. The build largely remains the same though.

What I usually do for Ebon Fury is use it in conjunction with Blade Tempo and Poison Malice (you can have all 3 up at once) and then yes, just spam Dusk Strike.

Otherwise, my rotation varies depending on what rhythmic ability I'm using at the time, but for general use I'll often just use Keen Strike -> Puncture -> Dusk Strike for a quick Deadly Strike. Honestly both those moves are there for the 2 combo points, so they can be thrown in whenever they're up or not at all. Just whenever you want to get that next Deadly Strike a little quicker.
