I like that they can push a significant content patch with as little as 30mins of downtime. I know certain other games that schedule 4-8 hours of downtime for similar kinds of patches.

And you're lucky if they don't end up exceeding those estimates by at least 100%, and if you can log in and get the patch on the same day.

Not only is the patch scheduled for 30 minutes, a lot of the time the patch is ready to go way before the 30 minutes is up. Talk about efficient! XD

Rift is half the game WoW is and Rift also doesn't need to go through the same growing pains since it essentially borrowed most other MMO's design. no need to reinvent the wheel, just keep your own wheel rolling.

i still think Rift is due for some major hiccups soon. nice game just the same.

Except that they did. They exceeded the original estimate by 100%. Those bastards! A whole hour of downtime for a content patch! AMG!!
