Rogue: Bladedancer or NightbladeFollow

Started a rogue and chose Marksman as my primary soul. Best choice for the ranged DPS toon that I wanted, but I absolutely needed a good melee soul to back me up on mobs. SO I chose bladedancer. Not really sure if that was the best move. I'm looking now at Nightblade, which I think would be best for soloing mobs. Chose Assassin for my third, and I know that was a mistake. Don't really want to go Ranger, not interested in having a pet following me... I'm thinking Marksman / Nightblade / Riftstalker. I ultimately want to maximize my ranged DPS while keeping melee an option. Suggestions? At level 13 now, and I will likely trash the toon shortly.

Short version: NIGHTBLADE IS AWESOME

Long version:
At 37 I'm having a pretty good time with Marksman/Nightblade/Inf (pick anything you like for third soul - maybe riftstalker)

This is a 36 build that I use - i stopped at 13 NB and started putting more into marksman, but going 14-15 for Dusk Strike and Ebon Fury would work better for melee. This build is -fantastic- in pvp and can hold its own soloing or in instances. Don't forget that you can use swift shot in melee, and barbed shot does a ton of damage on mobs that are closing in. I usually start off with Empowered Shot and barbed shot, then two swifts and rapid fire/deadeye shot. Throwing down a marksman's pedestal, stealthing and using Dark malady, then Strafe is GODLY burst - with just those abilities (not counting my 1500-1700 bulls eye'd deadeye shot) i can pull out around 2400 damage in 6ish seconds. Don't forget Close Quarters Combat.

My personal opinion is that Nightblade is what you're looking for. As your main class. I can kill completely from range without any points in sab, MM or ranger, or bring it in close and dish the pain. Its a very versatile soul - in pvp, i can pop Side Steps or another defensive CD to outlast, or use Scourge of Darkness and anything else i want to bring the burst damage (dark malady, twilight force, flame spike x2, scourge of darkness, dusk to dawn = a very unhappy melee enemy).

NB is great in pvp, too - only rogue soul at this level to have healing reduction (fell blades @ 32 points), let alone a proccing 50%! Awesome mobility as well.

I use http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MipV.VftoMogoos.V0xMho for my nightblade build. I have terrific mobility, able to kite or close gaps with ease, as well as lots of cooldowns for defense and offense.

hmmm. I personally say assassin - the improved stealth capabilities make soloing much easier. If you're really more concerned with pure damage, then yes BD or Nightblade. Bladedancer is better served in a pure melee build, so definitely go nightblade.
