Apparently SWToR is sucking when people actually play it

http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/14/dual-of-the-fates-two-class-previews-outline-the-positives-and/4#comments

and GW2 B2P model is starting to have some holes in it when they actually started to figure how much it was going to cost to actually run a major MMORPG for free

http://www.gamerzines.com/mmo/news/guild-wars-2-no-expansions.html

If anyone can actually tell me WTF that GW2 article is even talking about because I am out standingly confused by it. Does this mean GW2 would charge for like some we see in Rift with 1.3 and Hammerknell???

or does it mean they would only charge for say like a content update like WoW WotLK and all the content and mini patches in between are free?

In case you wonder why I care because these fans REALLY and I mean really go out of their way daily to remind me Rift is going to die when they launch, so I like to keep track of their games too.

Yeah, SW:TOR looks worse and worse the more I see of it. I actually saw a 1 hour video of gameplay (before it was pulled) and it looked like crap (basically it looked like KOTOR's engine with MMO features plastered on... which is not really a good thing).

As for the article, it sounds like they're making it so Guild Wars 2 will provide expansion-like content through its in-game store. So where another MMO would generate a new continent with accompanying content in an expansion, GW2 will just deliver it through their store instead of making you buy another box.

It's just a departure from the original Guild Wars where basically every time they released an expansion it was like releasing another game that also happened to be named Guild Wars. It seems like they're just following a more traditional expansion path this time to avoid reinventing the wheel every time they release new content.
