RIFT 1.4 Hotfix #7 - 8/17/11

GENERAL
* Added a new group loot setting, 'Need vs. Greed', which only allows characters to roll Need on equipment types that match their calling (Chain for Clerics, Leather for Rogues, etc.) - this setting is now used in Warfronts and LFG-formed groups, and is optional in player-formed groups. The pre-existing 'Group Loot' setting allows open need/greed rolling on any item type, and has not been changed.
* Equipment no longer counts toward item sets if it is equipped in a Wardrobe slot.
* Guildmates in Slivers now show where they are in the Guild Roster - it displays the Sliver name instead of the zone the Sliver is in.
* Added a new error message to better indicate if you're trying to purchase an item using a currency either equipped or in your bank (such as PvP rank gear).
* Fixed an occasional case where quest update messages could get stuck on-screen.
* Fixed several quest items that were incorrectly allowed to be traded.
* Revised the tooltip message shown for item sets that include Synergy Crystals when the Crystal is not equipped.


PVP RIFTS
* Fixed a bug that could sometimes prevent gaining rewards for closing PvP Rifts.
* Some rare-quality Lesser Essences were not dropping from PvP rifts - they do now!


WATER SAGA
* The Solace Cabal: The Spyglass should reset more reliably.
* Moonshade Mop-Up: More Guardian-side quest cleanups for this quest.
* Out of the Fire: Changed the way this quest works to avoid escort issues.
* The 'Lord of Madness' title is now 'Mistress of Madness' for female characters.


COMBAT
* The Dragon Mote effect, 'Burning Out', should no longer apply on players' pets. It should also be removed from any pets which have it - they may need to be resummoned to remove it.
* Archon: Lingering Dust will now apply the buff on the caster even if the target is immune to the Slow debuff.
* Companion pets have been removed from the tab-targeting rotation.


DUNGEONS, SLIVERS, RAIDS
* Raid instances no longer claim party members are entering an 'Expert' instance when they join someone who is zoning them into the raid.
* Deepstrike Mines: Expert: Fixed an issue where Gatekeeper Kaleida's Earth Crystal was not spawning.

DROWNED HALLS
* Hydriss: Adjusted the damage of Tsunami so it no longer has such a wide damage variation when it hits.
* Isskal: Fixed an issue that could cause him to cast Ice Shard during the Whirl of Death and Glacial Wave phases.

HAMMERKNELL
* Grugonim: Fixed an edge case that could potentially keep Grugonim invulnerable below 10% health.


CRAFTING/ITEMS
* Crafting Rift lures now stack to 20.
* Crafted item sets for casters that should be giving Spell Power were providing an incorrect Endurance boost. This has been corrected and these items should now properly provide a Spell Power bonus.
* The current skill display in the crafting window once again updates correctly if you have it open while skilling up.
* The Craft All button is disabled when crafting with an Augment.


ZONES
* Moonshade Highlands: Removed the elite mobs around the Hammerknell Fortress raid entrance.
* Scarwood Reach: The mobs summoned by portals in the Sagespire have their health reduced to be in line with most mobs in the game. These also no longer grant experience. The quest 'Tower Defense' now gives more experience on completion to account for the removed kill experience.
* Scarwood Reach: Realigned Priorities: The Guardian Raiders no longer flag you for PvP and also no longer hit like trucks.
* Stonefield: An Unwanted Assignment: Fixed the Risen Horror not granting credit.


CLIENT
* Discovery Log: Added _Expert to the end of Expert map names.
* Discovery Log: Harvested items (artifacts, herbs, ore, etc) are now written to the log as ....

That need vs greed change is pretty **** major actually. Very very good change and was over due in more then a few other MMO's

I had a warrior need over me on a one-handed sword while he's a two-hand spec. It was one of those swords that takes a pair to get the good stats, and I'm a dual-wielder. Is that kosher?

Not exactly a nice thing to do, though he may have wanted it for another spec. But those things will still be possible with the new system (which, given the itemization in Rift, ought to have been in place all along tbh).
