Hey guys. I was running thru an instance w/ a lvl 50 who was obviously helping someone level up. He kept instructing her to log out and back in. Something about exp pot? Can someone explain this please?

No idea. You should have asked him, because anything involving logging out and back int to gain any sort of a benefit would likely be classed as an exploit.

Yeah, I did ask him, but he was rather evasive in his answer. But apparently they kept running thru the instance together, so there must be some benefit there.

The only reason I can think of to do that would be to log out in between bosses since they'd be worth the most exp. That would prolong the exp pot for as long as possible.

Frankly, probably not worth it

Ya, if that was the case I'd definitely say not worth it. Gain some xp between bosses or gain none just so you can get twice as much on bosses for longer...

Either there's more to it than that, or the people in the OP's group weren't thinking very clearly.

Logging out then back in while using an xp bonus potion before a boss is that you first kill upon reentry to the game will also be a rested xp kill, effectively compounding the bonuses. bear in mind this will only count for a single kill, so doing this right before a boss does make some sense - however unless they're using SSD drives and some very fast hardware any immediate gain in xp results in an overall net loss due to time spent logging in/out of the game world, esp if they're using level 50 characters to power-level their toons.

It is unlikely that Trion would consider this an exploit of game mechanics as the method is terribly ineffective, time consuming and lets be honest the people doing this are certainly not enjoying their gaming experience.

Passive warning: please don't post explicit instructions on how to use an exploit :)

As i stated previously it's not an exploit, an exploit is misuse of game mechanics to derive an advantage over another player or group of players, the only end result of an individual(s) from following the previously mentioned exercise is a waste of time with no net gain or advantage over anyone.

Trion will not care about this because it is a terribly retarded way to get the most out of a xp potion.

Didn't say it was. As a matter of fact, I was quite careful not to say that :)
