So I did some testing. Instant Adventure is going to go down in history as the most common sense thing EVER added to mmorpg's right up there with Coin Lock

**The possible world pvp applications of this are beyond insane in my view. The system is that SIMPLE and common sense it shocks me noone has done it before

Here is the idea.

1. Press . (period). Queue happens instantly and you are ported to Stillmoor

2. Join Group and automatically get a quest. Goto x area and kill y number of things. Get rewarded with Xp, drops, and inscribed sourcestones

Interesting... on the surface it sounds like a cool idea (and helps ensure that people aren't doing actual activities in level 50 zones by themselves (which on a pvp server is a very good thing).

I do have this nagging fear that it might make the game feel too instanced. Even though everything is happening out in the open world, there's this lobby-esque feeling I'm getting from the system that is unsettling for a game like Rift.

I have no reason to believe they won't do it right, they tend to do this type of thing well, so let's hope this isn't the exception.

There is absolutely nothing that stops a person who is in the area from the joining the raid or when you leave the raid going off to do something else.

If it was instanced or phased then 100% yes I would agree with you. There is not much lobbying here and in fact I see it as introducing more mmorpg features into the game.

If you are a pvp defiant guild there is really nothing stopping you from ganking a guardian raid doing this.

caveat: I really despise PvP, especially open-world PvP.

I have to agree that it has some interesting implications for PvP and, on a PvP shard, if your guild can field a raid to go hunt IA raids, then all luck to you and happy hunting.

I just shudder to think of some folks on a PvE shard pulling the griefing stuff that I have already seen on my shard. It is not uncommon to see 3 or 4 members of a guild grabbing the boss while an opposing guild is setting up for a raid rift pull and trying to get the boss to cleave into the middle of the raid. We had a Defiant guild do this to us over and over a week ago.

Still, when they get it tuned so the objectives are a little more worthwhile it will be one more worthwhile addition to Rift.

Wow... maybe you need to change shards? I've NEVER seen anything like this on mine. That's a pretty nasty thing to do. Did they get reported?
