So I know Ember Isle has not released yet and that is a epic crap ton of content by itself, but with 1.6 coming on Nov 16th I am wondering is it possible to establish a predictable pattern from Trion:

Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rift_%28video_game%29

1.1 - 3/30/2011 - 30 days from launch date
. This update held a world event that emphasized death rifts and added a new 20-man raid, The River of Souls

1.2 - 5/10/2011 - 41 days from 1.1
. This update emphasized earth and fire rifts. It also introduced crafting rifts, a 5th role, slivers, and a new 10-man raid, Gilded Prophecy

1.3 - 6/22/2011 - 43 days from 1.2
. This update emphasized water and death rifts and introduced a new 20-man raid, Hammerknell.[31] The game also introduced guild banks and synergy crystals; a new type of item that provides a customized bonus to raid-level gear

1.4 - 8/3/2011 - 42 days from 1.3
. This update emphasized life and water rifts. This update introduced PvP rifts, alternate warfront, cross-shard LFG tool, a new epic quest line, and a new 10-man raid, Drowned Halls.

1.5 - 9/28/2011 - 56 days from 1.4
. Features new content such as Chronicles which are entry level dungeons made for 1 to 2 players and advance the story. Veteran rewards that reward players for the amount of time they have been playing RIFT and it includes the new Planar Attunement which allows level 50 players to advance their roles further and choose what Plane they will specialize in.

1.6 - 11/16/2011 - 49 days from 1.5
- Pretty huge update new zone, artifacts, new 10man raid and various other features described as a mini expansion

30 + 41 + 43 + 42 + 56 + 49 = 261/6 = 43.5 days per release average

ok So now that we have a average when will 1.7 most likely be and this is important because everyone expects 1.6 is the counter to SWToR. This puts 1.7 around 12/28/2011 because every Rift patch is done on a Wednesday.

This also makes sense because 1.6 has a Christmas event and it does not make sense to have that event go past 12/25/2011. I HAVE NO CLUE what is in 1.7 All I know is it will involve that zone Northeast of Droughtlands and is called Planetouched Wilds

Sure 'nuff, just saw that myself. Guess I better finally use up all my event currency. ;) Shame those 24 slot bags are unique!

Ok so we got that e-mail saying next week which puts it at 11/16/2011, then we got

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Jz-lgjgCP3w

Where he says before Thanksgiving which could also mean 11/23/2011. I am putting my best on 11/16/2011 just because of the PR blitz and words like "final" testing used on the pts.

**** Elrar even told me when I noticed on the pts that Ember Isle had been optimized and was running veryyyy nicely. It was obvious to notice when the Onslaught invasions and Sourcewells look way more detailed and do not cause nearly as much server side lag as they used too.

Pull some strings and get a date. Zam has the power! In my view delaying past 11/16/2011 will be a bad idea. Pretty sure Rift is proving just how fast a playerbase can devour content.

It makes you wonder how WoW is still alive honestly. 45 days we are ripping through everything they throw at us and I am hoping Ember Isle will keep everyone occupied.

*looks around*
Nope, don't see no Patch :)

On the other hand, I have to be out for a few hours this morning, so Murphy will most likely strike.

Best guess they have not even said jack diddly about maintenance either, so this leads me to assume mid day 1.6 patching. My guess is they are finishing the patch notes or it is still doing final QA checks.

One can hope...communication would be nice

edit: 2hr downtime just announced..Also Calthine why take down the "from the ember" vid on Zam? Trion posted it on their front page, so Zam can put theirs back up.

That announcement went up *just* as I was leaving the house. Murphy loves me!

Our editor-in-chief was doing the video thing, I'm not in that loop. But it's back now.

oh cool. I need to watch it with the sound on after work, but it look awesome. Also 1.6 on 11/16/2011 puts my prediction of late December and January for whatever 1.7 is on schedule.

42-50 days from we should see 1.7 and maybe 2-3 weeks from now it will hit PTS. I PREDICT 1.7 will be new chronicle for River of Souls and Maelforge 20man raid.

I would guess that any Yule event probably runs into January.

Also, for 1.7, my money's on at the earliest a few days into January; releasing a major update before a holiday when people are all going to be all over the place and perhaps unreachable is generally a major dev no-no. After the new year would be the safest, probably mid-second-week of January.

hehe go tell that to Bioware lol. My guess is right around yours also some time after Dece 25th or right into January. Technically they could push it because they have gone up to 50 days before.

My suggestion with ToR on the way is drop 1.7 at the times we are guessing.

I'll bet on Yule being early December to early January, and 1.7 in mid-January.

who the man! So that puts 1.7 at 12/27/2011 or a early January. So 1.7 goes on the pts in maybe another week or so to test WHATEVER it will involve

I know we can be 90% sure that we wont see Port Scion with 1.7 but I remember listening to podcasts before launch and they said that Port Scion the zone will be coming out very shortly after launch. I'm really surprised we haven't seen it yet. When do you think we will see it? 1.8? 1.9?

Well 1.7 is 2 weeks after December 21st. This is the FIRST TIME since 1.1 I think where Trion gave us dates on the phases. So this does put 1.7 sometime into January.

I still believe it will be a Maelforge raid for sure with a chronicle added and maybe master mode DSM. 1.8 goes into February and that could be Planetouched Wilds which could somehow lead up to Crucia or Latheys? Just the name of the zone alone gives me the impression of a zone HEAVILY influenced by the planes to the point you feel like you are walking into the plane of life.

Edit: Also if you were wondering about my one week ban on mmo champ. Trollsbane threw a fit because I pointed out what a neutral review of ToR looks like that does not sound as fanboish and he took it personnel.

No. You were infracted because you chose not to listen. I gave you enough warnings, and you chose to drag it out and keep pushing. Don't air your dirty laundry on other forums either. That makes you look silly.

lol mad? Your review got torn apart by more then just me. Brushing off serious issues is not very pro and is only asking for people to question your intentions.

Anyways this is a Rift forum. Played ToR and I am not nowhere near concerned about that game doing any damage to Rift/WoW. Most it will do is finish off Aion if it can even do that. I will be sticking with Rift. Atleast Trion bothered to learn from 7 years of mistakes from WoW.

Lol. MMO champ is like a dictatorship. The Mods take it too seriously. Its a place to talk about video games.. there is nothing serious about it. Seriously, its like they have nothing better to do than give out infractions and bans for using their website.
