Searching rift.zam.com for Inscribed Sourcestone itemsFollow

Is it possible to query rift.zam.com database and get a list of all of the items you can purchase with Inscribed Sourcestone. I'd like to plan out how to gear up my fresh lvl 50 warrior tank but I am really struggling to find a complete list of all the possible gear I could purchase.

I had assumed that it would be relatively easy to do but unlike the wowhead version you don't seem to get a "currency for" tab that shows you what can be purchased with a currency.

I assume that there is a way with filters to get such a list but I cannot find how to do it. Anyone know? Or are there other lists out there that would say what can be purchased with inscribed sourcestone?

The easy way to do it would be to look up the merchants that sell the stuff.

edit: I'll ask our devs if such a query is doable.

Unfortunately that requires knowing the names of the vendors. So its a bit of a catch 22, in order to generate a list of vendors you need to know the list of items purchased by inscribed sourcestone or the you need to know which vendors accept inscribed sourcestone. Either way you need some link between the two otherwise you are stuck, unless someone has already compiled a list on another site.

Unfortunately all I've been able to find are lists of raiding gear. So again another catch 22 you can't get into a raid unless you have geared up, and its awkward to know you are gearing up right unless you know what's available for your currency. ie: I'd hate to go buy something only to find there is something dramatically better on a different vendor.

Hopefully your devs can help, thanks for asking them.

I don't know if it's something no one thought to do here or something that isn't doable with Rift's data (every game's data is different), but we can sure try :)

Thanks. I'd be happy to assist even it's simply adding links to the vendors on the comments section, rather than coding anything.

That shouldn't be necessary; all the merchants and their inventory should hooked up.

The merchants have indeed got their inventory however the list of merchants accepting that currency isn't listed on the currency page. So if you do a "Inscribed Sourcestone" search you get nothing but the inscribed sourcestone item and no links to any vendors.

I was suggesting I could add links to vendors in the comments box for Inscribed Sourcestone item.

A simpler, but coded, solution would be to allow currency as a search item. So you had a drop down to filter on items that needed that currency to purchase. This would then work for all the sourcestones as well as the world event currencies. Your database does have the amount of these currency needed to purchase so adding a currency field to the filter would solve the problem fairly neatly.

I've put a ticket in, lol. Devs tend to be busy folks, so we wait :)

Edit: If you want to go do all that editing, feel free! That's part of the beauty of wiki. Me, I'd prefer to see what our devs come up with.
