So I think Trion has spoiled me here. I know it is Christmas and we did get that dev q and a thing, but I am noticing a shocking lack of details about basically anything going on for the future of this game.

I mean I am delighted to see TOR falling on its face and it inspires confidence that Trion made some of the issues Bioware is having seem like nothing, but where is the update? The "Why can't Bioware do what Trion did?" threads are f'n sweet you have no idea.

Here is what I expect:
Maelforge raid called Eternal Dawn
Master mode DSM and Caducues rise
possibly the next chronicles for River of Souls and Hammerknell:Catacombs

We are in phase 3 of the world event. The world event thing actually says it ends 1/4/2011 which gave everyone the assumption that is when we would see 1.7

There has been no pre patch notes or even a summary of what to expect. I would expect that with TOR butchering some of the Rift server we would have gotten something by now.

They'll release details when they have details that they're ready to release. Rift has definitely spoiled some of us when we're a month in on a new major patch (we did just get Ember Isle after all) and people are already getting antsy because they haven't heard anything about the next one.

Remember when you could go 4-6 months in other games with no word about the next major patch and it was par for the course?

Well they may be waiting for the tor hype to slow down so people will auctully pay attention to other games before they start releasing info. And its christmas :P And I dont believe tor is falling on its face. It wall always have lots of star wars fans. I plan on playing rift and Tor for different reasons.

My money's on either the 4th or 11th, depending. As for what it contains, I won't speculate too much. I'm hoping for that area east of Freemarch/Droughtlands to open up. I likes exploring.

I think most of us who follow the pts are expecting Planetouched Wilds in patch 1.8 and the introduction a new race called the Estrian not playable as of yet(but maybe Trion might break that mmo trend)

You know nothing technically says that a new race MUST be in a paid expansion. That is a big criticism of Rift that they need more leveling zones, so why not? It would seriously give Blizzard the finger.

Trion has made a fan out of me because they have a rep of making people question the mmo establishment. People yelling at Bioware for releasing a crap UI point to Rift and say "Well Trion did it with 1/3 of the budget why can't you?"

1.8 time frame for release lines up around the one year anniversary, so maybe they might open port scion somehow?
