Fae Yule Celebration (Rift Event)  

The first annual Rift winter event will be the Fae Yule Celebration[1]. This went Live on November 22, 2011, and will be a three-phase, six-week event.

After the event ends you will be able to spend your at World Event Merchants. According to Amanda "Amary" Fry, "... they won't show up right away tomorrow but WILL be coming."End of Fae Yule Announcement, Official Forums, Jan 3, 2012.<.ref>

As the nights grow longer and snow begins to fall through much of Telara, Grandfather Frost and the Yulemother are anticipated by Telarans everywhere. For over a thousand years Yule has been celebrated by all the races of Telara, except the Fae. Greenscale would not allow the Fae to participate, but now that he is gone the Fae intend to celebrate extra-hard to make up for lost time. Ready or not, this... Is... FAE YULE!

Most Daily quests reward 25 Unique Snowflakes and a Jingling Bell.

If you find a Candycane, Holiday Gift or Mug of Wassail lying around, pick it up to get a Unique Snowflake and a surprise!

You can also obtain Unique Snowflakes by:

  • Defeating an invasion or foothold boss: 1
  • Defeating an Air invasion or foothold boss: 2
  • Defeating a foothold idol: 1
  • Defeating an Air foothold idol: 2
  • Sealing a Minor rift: 5
  • Sealing an Air or Fae Yule rift: 10
  • Sealing a Major rift: ?
  • Defeating a Zone Event boss: ?
The mobs in the target must be green or better to you to get snowflakes.

Check your mailbox each day for a Fae Yule Gift from Grandfather Frost! You might even get a Holiday Snowman.

On your journeys, if you find a Lump of Coal, bring it to Grandfather Frost and put it in his fire to bring warmth to the world!

Phase 2 began the evening of 12/7/2011

Crucia's forces are attacking, and Atrophinius is on the rampage. Push back the Plane of Air and reclaim Fae Yule.

The currency for this event is the Unique Snowflake. They are awarded from quests, for closing rifts and defeating invasions, from special Fae Yule objects, and in gifts from Grandfather Frost.
